JOB TITLE: SENIOR MECHANICAL ENGINEER
Fixed term contract for 9 months.
KEY RESPONSIBILITIES:
- Accountable for supporting the day to day detailed engineering support, prioritisation and maintenance of the offshore mechanical and rotating equipment whilst maintaining compliance with the relevant company and legislative standards and procedures.

- Actively support a working culture based on respect for health, safety and environmental issues and maintenance of a high level of asset integrity.
- Drive continuous improvement in reliability and availability of installation safety and business critical equipment by analysing and interrogating mechanical performance.
- Design/develop/deploy technical solutions for poorly performing mechanical equipment.
- Assess and review technical proposals for mechanical upgrades or new equipment and their process integration.
- Develop excellent working relationships with offshore and onshore production operations, Technical Authorities, regulatory and verification bodies.
- Participate as a member of the maintenance development team in delivering company production related performance targets.
- Co-ordinates with operations personnel for planned and corrective maintenance of all mechanical and rotating systems and equipment.
- Provide detailed mechanical technical support in the day to day activities including the installation and maintenance support of mechanical equipment.
- Monitors the performance, failures and serviceability of all mechanical plant, associated mechanical control systems and equipment and reports on the activities undertaken.
- Implement, integrate and review planned maintenance programmes in order to meet statutory and vendor requirements, ensuring that all work is accurately recorded.
- Maintains comprehensive records of performance, trends and failures and supports the asset production loss reporting systems.
- Ensure all third party support performs in accordance with the contract deliverables, conforms to statutory legislation and reports on progress.
- Fully familiar with the appropriate statutory legislation, Safety Case, Verification Scheme and Safety Management Systems in support of the function.
- Ensure all mechanical equipment in hazardous areas is maintained in accordance with the appropriate legislation, guidelines, assurance and verification practices
- Preparation, management and control of all associated OPEX and CAPEX budgets
- Work and support across the operational disciplines and technical authorities to ensure team integration.
- Regular offshore visits to directly support offshore operations and ensure full and practical understanding of operational issues.
- Asses all Mechanical equipment from an Obsolescence aspect. Engage with OEM and facilitate change.
- Responsibility for equipment includes but is not limited to; valves, HVAC, cranes, pumps, gas compression, lifeboats, emergency generator, water making system, produced water conditioning.
- Development, technical justification and control of OPEX and CAPEX budgeted activities ensuring the maintainability, reliability and availability of the relevant mechanical systems is optimised to achieve high levels of asset integrity and production attainment.
- Onshore focal point for the prioritisation, planning and execution of planned and corrective maintenance.
- Ensure compliance with the asset Verification Scheme and management of Remedial Action Recommendations and Synergi actions arising from incidents.
- Accountability and management of onshore vendor activities, materials and performance.

ESSENTIAL QUALIFICATIONS AND SKILLS:
- Minimum requirements are Mechanical Engineering BEng (Hons) with demonstrable experience in a similar role
- working in an operations support environment preferred
- Knowledge and awareness of applicable legislation and engineering standards.
- excellent communications and leadership qualities to support on and offshore teams in achieving wider goals
- competent working with auditors, regulatory bodies, external verifiers and 3rd parties
- strong budget and cost management skills
- ability to work under own initiative
- demonstrable experience of mechanical delivery in an operational environment providing front line mechanical engineering support to an offshore oil & gas producing asset
- proven delivery under pressure
- offshore experience desirable and willingness to travel offshore
