More detail about the role
RDUH Theatre activity is delivered across 6 different sites, across Devon. The purpose of this role is to predominately focus on theatres directly under the surgical care group. However, it is recognised that this role would provide some leadership and facilitate better collaborative working across all theatres at RDUH. The successful applicant will have a drive to continuously improve our safety culture, workforce transformation, standards of care and theatre utilisation in the context of increasing operational demands and theatre expansion. The post holder will strategically lead on set programmes of work directly linked to governance and safety (NatSSIPS2), workforce retention, recruitment, transformation & education, theatre expansion and Day Surgery pathways and utilisation.
We have recently invested in a senior operational transformation lead (Day Surgery specific) and obtained dedicated clinical consultant time (Day Surgery specific), and the role of a Senior Matron would complement these to form a strong triumvirate structure for change and improvement.
This new and exciting role requires an ambitious and dynamic leader with a proven history of delivering high-quality, safe, and efficient patient care. Drawing on your expertise and experience, you will foster a culture of continuous improvement, innovation, and excellence, shaping a shared vision for theatre care that aligns with the Transformation agenda and the Trust Strategy. You will be a collaborative team player with excellent communication skills, able to connect with and inspire others to thrive. Your ability to motivate and support your colleagues will help create a positive and encouraging environment where everyone feels empowered to perform at their best. If you are ready to lead with purpose, drive positive change, and inspire those around you, this opportunity offers the chance to make a meaningful impact.
Please note that this job description and the banding are subject to the completion of the job matching process, and there may be some small amendments required to the job description.
Working Pattern: 37.5 hours per week
