Job Title: Senior Metallurgical Engineer

Salary: £47683 plus depending on skills and experience
What you’ll be doing:
· Providing materials and process technical support
· Oversight and governance to a broad range of programmes with respect to metallic materials development and manufacturing activities
· Delivering fit for purpose materials and process solutions to manufacturing programmes, supporting facility and material qualification, standardisation and product safety
· Developing materials and process standards and technical and legislative data gathering
· Supervising others work, interviewing, coaching, external engagement and providing on the job training
Your skills and experience:
· Experience in metallic materials manufacturing processes (preferably aerospace), supplier assurance, auditing, special process technical oversight etc, alongside formal education requirements
· Degree or equivalent professional qualification in terms of formal education. Additional relevant knowledge, experience and product expertise can offset these qualification requirements
· Knowledge of welding methodologies, new and advanced metallic manufacturing processes (including additive manufacturing processes), hands on metallics processing experience
· Auditing experience, leading an audit

The Materials Governance team:
As a part of this team you will work on complex, innovative and world leading projects such as Tempest, Typhoon and F-35 Lightning II. Join us and you will be working alongside other functions to deliver products that will be in service for 40+ years and being continually upgraded to maintain Customers Air Defence capabilities.
