Fitch Ratings Business Relationship Management (BRM) Structured Finance team is currently seeking a (Senior) Market Research Associate based out of our London office.
The role is based within the Business Relationship Management (BRM) group in London, which leads business development and marketing efforts for Fitch Rating's Structured Finance (SF) and Covered Bonds (CVB) market segment franchise across the Europe, Middle East and Africa (EMEA) region.

We'll Count on You To:
The BRM team is responsible for the growth and development of the SF and CVB portfolio through a two-pronged approach leveraging relationships with senior decision makers in issuing entities and investment banks with the principal objective to generate new rating mandates and retaining existing ones.
This role will suit someone who is seeking to develop a career in a business development or relationship management/marketing role.
- Support the EMEA Structured Finance BRM Team
- Assist in ad hoc requests from the European SF BRM team including:
- Preparing engagement letters through the Contract Lifecycle Management system
- Organizing meetings
- Updating the contacts database
- Monthly reporting and KPIs analysis
- Regularly liaise with internal teams such as:
- Accounts team to help deal with open billing queries
- Legal team to assist in contractual changes requested by clients
- Assist in ad hoc requests from the European SF BRM team including:
- Market Research and Analysis
- Contribute to the analysis of securitisation market data using systems (e.g., LCD News, Creditsights, Concept ABS)
- Monitor market activity and identify trends relevant to Fitch Rating's commercial efforts
- Support BRM's wider marketing strategy through research and maintaining the market share data entry process on a monthly and weekly basis
- Attention to detail is imperative for strategic planning with senior management
- Regulatory
- Ensure the SF BRM team meets regulatory requirements by:
- Running sanction searches and KYC checks on all engaged companies
- Updating the system with related counterparties to transactions
- Updating the website monthly with all engaged transactions
- Ensure the SF BRM team meets regulatory requirements by:
- Marketing
- Act as a backup for sending monthly and intraday newsletters/emails to external contacts
- Track opens and click-through rates and analyze the data
- Liaise with the Investor Development Team
- Support the execution of webinars, videos, or any other marketing activities around Fitch's strategic initiatives in collaboration with the marketing and digital teams
- Preparation of Marketing Materials
- Prepare pitch books, quarterly market share slides, and other marketing materials as required to support the SF BRM team's marketing efforts
- Financial Reporting and Budget Analysis
- Act as a backup when required to manage the European Structured Finance pipeline and budget
- Produce monthly and annual management information and reporting for the EMEA region (knowledge of financial reporting would be advantageous)
What You Need to Have:
- Demonstrable knowledge of preparing marketing materials using Microsoft Word and Powerpoint
- Strong/Advanced Excel skills with demonstrable knowledge of data research and analysis, showing excellent attention to detail (an attention to detail test will be given)
- Strong communication and presentation skills, verbal & written
- Self-starter with strong delivery ethos and organisational skills
- Strong time management ethos
- Ability to work independently to deadlines within a strategic framework, with supervision and guidance from senior team members
What Would Make You Stand Out:
- Knowledge or aptitude to work with market data systems such as Bloomberg, LCD News, Creditsights, advantageous
- Experience in or exposure to the following asset classes:CLOs, RMBS, ABS, CMBS
- Alongside English, proficiency in one other European foreign language (French or German preferable)
- Budgeting and financial reporting experience is advantageous.
- Knowledge of CRM systems, specifically Salesforce would be highly useful as well as SAP (Accounting) and Marketo (e-marketing platform)
