The Vendor Management team, part of the wider Central Business Services function (CBS), provides people, processes, and tools to drive a consistent way of improving vendor & delivery partner operational performance, optimise value and identify opportunities to step up customer experience. This includes managing and delivering travel requirements that enable over 20,0000 Deloitte people in the UK & Switzerland to do business with their clients. By creating the right spaces and infrastructure they ensure Deloitte colleagues can work how, where and when it suits them in a sustainable, safe, and secure way.

We recognise the importance of effective vendor management throughout the entire vendor lifecycle, including pre-contract activities in collaboration with CoRe Procurement. We will work closely with our vendors and the businesses to ensure that we have a thorough understanding of their capabilities, products, and services. The role sits within the Vendor Management Office (VMO) with a specific focus on corporate travel for UK and Swiss member firms. The UK & CH Senior Travel Manager will have leadership responsibility for the travel team; and will take on and play a critical role in ownership, management, and development of the two firms' travel strategy.

Being a subject matter expert on corporate travel, the Senior Manager has a wide brief, encompassing:

  • Responsibility for controlling and managing a large and complex travel P&L, as well as managing suppliers' costs, budgets, and forecasts to ensure they meet the firm's financial management standards.
  • Maintaining a strong understanding of current and emerging travel technology and ability to develop and drive travel technology to meet the firm's digitalisation strategy, user experience, emissions, and cost management needs.
  • Responsibility for developing, presenting, implementing, and reporting on outputs to a wide stakeholder community, including senior executive leaders across the firms. The Senior Manager will oversee the day-to-day operations of the team, providing guidance and support to team members as required, and ensuring that all team members understand the strategy, key objectives, deliverables, and how these support delivery of the travel program for all colleagues across the firms.
  • Data & Insights will be a key part of the role, and the Senior Manager will use data to identify opportunities to continually improve the user experience, reduce business costs and emissions, and meet client and internal client needs.
  • Continual Service Improvements will be promoted and delivered, and the Senior Manager will identify, recommend, and implement service improvements through weaving this approach into the team and function's DNA.
  • The Senior Manager will have the experience and knowledge to build and manage complex and often senior stakeholder relationships, both internally across the firms' businesses and enabling functions at all levels and externally with strategic external partners.

Day to day responsibilities include:

  • Acting as deputy to the Head of Travel & CBS Sustainability
  • Working with procurement to ensure all sourcing, negotiations, contracts follow the correct process and governance.
  • Ownership of the key strategic supplier's performance and ensure costs remain in line with budgets and forecasts.
  • Measurement and performance of the travel program, managed services and suppliers using all measures, including KPI, SLA, CSI and MWM.
  • Collaboration with other CBS and other functions both in the UK and North South Europe.

  • Experience in developing and implementing travel strategies, technology, and policies.
  • Experience in team management.
  • Demonstrable commercial expertise and experience
  • Sound knowledge of Sourcing & Supplier Management policies and procedures
  • Excellent commercial acumen and gravitas which builds confidence.
  • Excellent PowerPoint and excel skills.
  • Outstanding communication skills, both oral and written, including ability to articulate data to a senior stakeholder group at high level as well as at detailed level to an operational audience.
  • Strong leadership, Management and Customer Service Skills
  • Demonstrate an interest in continuous improvement by keeping abreast of market developments, industry standards and innovations.
