As a Senior Manager of Software Engineering at JPMorgan Chase within the International Consumer Bank, you will be a part of a flat-structure organization. Your responsibilities are to deliver end-to-end cutting-edge solutions in the form of cloud-native microservices architecture applications leveraging the latest technologies and the best industry practices. You are expected to be involved in the design and architecture of the solutions while also focusing on the entire SDLC lifecycle stages.

Job responsibilities:

  • Lead multiple technical teams across different areas of the business led each team by Squad Leads.
  • Build, manage and deliver technical strategy to support business goals.
  • Coach, develop and support career growth within your teams and to all managers reporting to you.
  • Manage stakeholders' expectations and communications across multiple levels.
  • Represent Engineering as Technical leader across multiple areas and forums.
  • Build Engineering and Operational excellence and influence all areas within Engineering to achieve it.
  • Collaborate with all technical leaders to impact across Engineering to deliver scalable solutions while ensuring the quality, robustness and reliability of each solution.
  • Lead, evaluate, overcome and evolve complex Technical and Architectural discussions.

Required qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience as manager of managers.
  • Demonstrated ability to deliver high-impact engineering initiatives on time, consistently meeting or exceeding initiative objectives.
  • Experience with Java, Spring Boot, relational databases, micro-services, event-driven architecture.
  • Deep understanding about software development lifecycle (requirements, design, architecture, development, testing, deployment, release and support).
  • In-depth knowledge of backend architectures, microservices patterns, and event-driven architecture.
  • Expertise on RESTful APIs and web technologies.
  • Experience leading multiple teams and measuring success.
  • While hands-off in day-to-day coding, it's required ability to engage deeply technical conversations, architectural reviews and code discussions when needed.

Preferred qualifications, capabilities and skills

  • Experience in fintech and/or investment industry.
  • Familiar with AWS, Kafka, Docker and MySQL
  • Familiarity with regulatory frameworks specific to the investment industry.
  • Familiar with Agile methodologies
  • Experience in mentoring technical leads and creating strong leadership pipeline within the organisation.
