Due to the regulated nature of procurement in the public sector, the firm has established a specialist, business critical team, the Public Sector Bid Team (PSBT). Tasked with managing and supporting the firm's public sector bidding activity, the PSBT drives quality and operational improvements on public sector bids and helps the business to win work in a highly competitive marketplace.

We are looking for an experienced bid writer to join our Public Sector Bid Team. Working closely with bid teams, the remit of this role will be broad and engaging, focused on helping to develop high quality proposals and win business. To be truly effective in this role, you will need to be adept at drafting content for public sector bids and an ability to manage relationships with stakeholders at all levels.
Your responsibilities will include :
• Leading virtual and in-person sessions aligned to the bid development stages
• Writing compelling and well-structured content that accurately meets the client's requirements
• Engaging with Subject Matter Experts (SMEs) to draft technical responses
• Proactively enhancing content by reviewing and editing responses
• Working closely with bid teams to create winning strategies, and ensuring these are developed throughout the proposal
• Mentoring others to create high quality bid content
• Reviewing final drafts to ensure clarity, consistency of language, tone of voice, terminology, etc.
• Developing and reviewing collateral to facilitate knowledge sharing e.g. best practice guidance, template/previous answers and style sheets
• Working with bid teams to identify lessons and establish and maintain culture of continuous improvement to bid quality
• Championing our best practice bidding processes
• Designing and delivering training and upskilling for the business
• Supporting the development of colleagues within the public sector bid team

• Excellent writing, editing, and copy-writing skills, as well as strong verbal communication skills
• A meticulous attention to detail and commitment to high-quality deliverables
• Previous experience of working on public sector bids as a senior writer
• Experience of facilitating/leading virtual and in-person group sessions at key bid stages
• Experience of interviewing subject matter experts, to develop and refine accurate content
• Ability to converse comfortably with senior stakeholders
• Ability to translate complex technical information into clear, compelling content
• Excellent planning skills to meet deadlines
• Adaptability to deal with changing requirements
• Flexibility and willingness to work to tight deadlines
• Strong interpersonal skills and use of initiative
• A naturally inquisitive nature to challenge ideas and identify ways to improve
• Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment
• Ability to mentor and coach others to produce high-quality content
• Previous experience of designing and facilitating training
• Previous experience of working on high value, complex technology and transformation proposals
• Previous experience of supporting or developing more junior team members
