Job Description
Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children and young people with special educational needs and disabilities (SEND)? This role places you at the forefront of delivering SEND statutory services to children and families.
As Senior Manager: SEND Statutory Case Work, you will play a pivotal role in our Education Division within Children's Services. Our mission is to champion children and young people, especially those vulnerable to underachievement. We are ambitious and innovative, striving to transform the SEND system in East Sussex by building strong partnerships across the local authority, educational settings, and stakeholders.
You will lead and manage the operational delivery of the Local Authority's statutory responsibilities for the assessment and placement of children and young people with SEND. Working in collaboration to establish strong relationships with health, social care and education settings to improve the inclusion of children and young people with Education, Health and Care (EHC) plans. In everything you do, you'll seek the best possible outcomes for children and their families.
We are looking for candidates who:
- Have leadership experience, and can inspire others and deliver our vision
- Are driven by a strong moral purpose and demonstrate exactly what it takes to engage and influence partners from across the diverse education and health landscape
- Have experience of leading teams delivering SEND statutory services and a detailed knowledge of legislation in this field
