The Role
The Senior Manager - Sales Engineering leads presales activities across a defined geography, ensuring the delivery of high-quality, client-aligned technology solutions. This role partners closely with Growth, Client Services, and Technology teams to translate client needs into compelling, scalable solutions that align with AMS's global strategy. While regionally focused, the role contributes to global consistency by sharing insights, assets, and best practices.
Key Accountabilities
Client Engagement & Solution Design
- Lead presales engagements across NAMER, acting as the primary technology solutions lead during pursuits.
- Facilitate discovery sessions to understand client challenges, technical environments, and future-state aspirations.
- Design and present tailored technical solutions aligned with AMS One capabilities and client objectives.
- Customize and deliver solution demos and technical presentations to client audiences.
Proposal Development
- Serve as the regional lead for RFP/RFI responses, ensuring accuracy, feasibility, and alignment with client needs.
- Collaborate with internal stakeholders to validate solution components and delivery assumptions.
Team Leadership & Enablement
- Manage and mentor a regional team of presales consultants and solution designers.
- Support team development through coaching, feedback, and knowledge sharing.
- Ensure consistent application of global presales standards and methodologies within the region.
Cross-Functional Collaboration
- Partner with Growth, Marketing, and Product teams to align messaging and solution positioning.
- Share regional insights and client feedback to inform global presales strategy and product development.
Asset Management
- Maintain and enhance reusable presales assets, including pitch decks, case studies, and technical templates.
- Contribute to the development of region-specific collateral that supports pursuit efficiency and client engagement
Skills & Requirements
Must have:
- Proven experience leading end-to-end presales / sales engineering engagements in a complex B2B technology or services environment
- People management experience, including coaching and developing presales or solution teams
- Strong solution design and system integration expertise, with the ability to translate client needs into scalable, client-aligned solutions
- Experience leading client discovery, solution design, demos, and technical presentations
- Demonstrated ownership of RFP/RFI technical responses and large pursuit activities
- Excellent communication, storytelling, and stakeholder-influencing skills, including simplifying complex technical concepts
- Strong commercial judgment and risk awareness during presales engagements
Nice to have:
- Experience in a global or matrixed organisation with regional presales leadership responsibility
- Background in digital, managed services, or technology consulting environments
- Exposure to enterprise-scale platforms and multi-vendor ecosystems
- Experience contributing to presales standards, assets, or maturity initiatives
- Vendor management or technology partner engagement experience
