By joining our Engineering, AI and Data, Quality Engineering team, you'll collaborate with diverse teams of colleagues from across Deloitte to deliver industry-leading testing services (e.g. AI-enabled, CI/CD, etc.), embed quality in our client's biggest technology programmes, and shape the team around you.
Our Engineering, AI and Data team are both technology platform and programme delivery specialists, working with some of biggest and most organisations in the UK and across Europe. We are frequently responsible for delivering our client's biggest generative AI-enabled transformations - blending strong relationships with our clients, deep experience across industries, platform technical expertise, and hard-won testing experience. You will be responsible for helping clients across industries to identify and implement the most appropriate and efficient testing solutions for their needs, leveraging generative AI to solve problems and transform businesses. You will have the opportunity to drive the test strategy and implementation on both traditional and agile implementations for top tier clients. Working with a range of clients will also provide you the opportunity to broaden your senior network with industry leaders and grow your leadership skills. You will play an important role in leading practice development activities such as: developing new service offerings to take to market, thought leadership and contributing to the management of our business.

Responsibilities will include:
- Leading and overseeing all aspects of testing and quality assurance for generative AI solutions across various industries.
- Present technical concepts and the business application to senior stakeholders.
- Support business development effort, demonstrating the values of test engineering for generative AI solutions.
- Managing diverse teams within an inclusive team culture where people are recognised for their contribution.
- Building long term, trusted relationships with senior stakeholders across client organisations.
- Taking responsibility for budgets, client deliverables and billing.
- Leading and supporting the development of bid responses and presenting proposals.
- Developing and implementing comprehensive testing strategies, frameworks, and methodologies specifically tailored for generative AI systems. This includes functional, non-functional, performance, security, and ethical considerations.
- Managing client test delivery, demonstrating how testing activities meet quality, time and cost objectives.
- Providing advice on testing toolsets and leveraging them effectively on programmes.
- Reviewing test processes and practices and coaching the team on enhancement opportunities.
- Contributing to the development of internal knowledge repositories and training materials related to generative AI testing.
- Owning risks and issues around testing processes, tools and resourcing.
- Acting as a role model, helping to develop and mentor junior team members.
Connect to your skills and professional experience
We are looking to hire people with experience of helping organisations transform - making the best use of new technologies. Ideally you will have experience of helping organisations in one or more of the following areas:
- Partnering directly with CIOs / CTOs / COOs to shape and mobilise technology transformations - e.g. from early business case through to delivery
- Leading AI-enabled change programmes; whether digital, back office or anything in between (and especially in a merger and/or acquisition context)
- Shaping scale engineering and/or enterprise IT operational models - and optimizing these for cost and performance
- Delivering programmes to drive business advantage from the use of data and AI; e.g. either customer-facing initiatives or enterprise AI / data
- Implementing modern Quality Test Engineering principals - e.g. intelligent autonomous frameworks, IoT strategies, data approaches to predict risks & identify opportunities with a mindset of user advocacy
Ideally you will have management consultancy experience in the past or have worked in senior positions using generative AI - perhaps you are contemplating a return to a consulting career.

To qualify for the role you must have:
- Experience of core system modernisation with a track record of high performance and success in your role.
- Proven track record of successfully implementing testing strategies and frameworks for complex software solutions, specifically in the domain of generative AI.
- Experience of leading quality engineering for complex systems integration programmes, e.g. new core integration into existing legacy architecture and required migration activities.
- Strong understanding of generative AI technologies, including Machine Learning (ML), Deep Learning (DL), and Large Language Models (LLMs).
- Experience developing and executing test plans specifically for generative AI systems, including aspects like bias detection, factual accuracy, toxicity assessment, and prompt engineering optimization.
- Experience in defining test strategies for large and complex IT change programmes.
- Strong leadership skills and experience of building high performing quality engineering teams.
- Excellent interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage and communicate with senior stakeholders.
- ISTQB certification or equivalent.
- Experience of building and strengthening key senior client relationships.
- Exceptional communication, presentation, business writing and professional skills, able to bridge both technical and business stakeholders.
- Strong commercial awareness of how transformation programmes operate.
Additional desirable experience includes:
- The ability to develop solutions and value-adding propositions and take these to market.
- Experience of managing, strengthening and broadening key client relationships - ideally at CIO / CTO / IT Transformation Director level.
- Ability to design and implement test automation frameworks.
- Industry certifications such as Scrum Master, BCS, ITIL, and cloud certifications such as AWS/GCP/Azure among others.
- Proficiency or experience with a software development language e.g. Java, Python, SQL, HTML.
- A proven track record in a top tier consultancy.
- Strong proficiency in key day to day applications such as Microsoft Office, and Confluence.
