The Role
We are currently recruiting for a new Senior Manager to work within our Guarantee & Wholesale Solutions Team (GWS).
The Guarantee & Wholesale Solutions team originates, structures and manages cash and risk transfer transactions of SME loan, asset and invoice finance portfolios. The team executes transactions with SME lenders such as banks and non-bank financial institutions, including community development finance institutions (CDFIs), and seeks to address funding, security and capital constraints these entities may face that prevent them from increasing their credit activity in the small business sector.
The purpose of the Senior Manager, GWS Origination & Relationship Management (relationship manager or senior banker) is to manage all aspects, and be responsible for, the commercial relationships for a pre-agreed number of existing and potential lenders (delivery partners). The role involves the successful marketing and origination of new transactions for GWS within the scope of the GWS business plan and in line with the BBB's Mission, Key Strategic Objectives and core values. The relationship manager represents the delivery partner within the BBB and determines GWS's strategy towards the delivery partner in terms of product marketing and requires observing and being responsive to market developments as they may impact delivery partners, which may present further opportunities for new transactions. The Senior Manager GWS O&RM reports to the Head of O&RM who will remain ultimately responsible for all issues which are non-standard or commercially sensitive. For the largest delivery partners, the Senior Manager may act as a second relationship manager.
To be considered for this role you must have substantial experience as a banker, corporate financier or marketeer with proven experience in relationship management, financial marketing and transaction management.
You must be able to demonstrate the capability to be resilient during periods of intense pressure, change and ambiguity and significant knowledge of SME markets. You must also have the ability to convey complex products simply and clearly to delivery partners.
Prior knowledge of regulatory aspects of capital efficiency products and general understanding of securitisation techniques, structures and capital markets would be highly desirable as well as
A working knowledge and understanding of GB Subsidy rules (or similar) vis-à-vis government capital markets and SME support schemes.
A working knowledge and understanding of GWS and ideally other BBB programmes, or proven experience of leading government Guarantee Scheme transactions would also be a distinct advantage.
We would particularly value experience within the CDFI Sector highly and would encourage applications from candidates with more extensive experience particularly in this area. .
