Job Description
We're seeking a talented individual to join our National Tax Team. You will be responsible for supporting tax colleagues to ensuring tax policies and procedures are up to date which will include identifying and communicating changes and reminders, identifying changes to regulations or professional rules and guidelines, results of monitoring activity and feedback from colleagues.
As a Senior Manager you will be require to conduct monitoring activity to test the extent to which policies are complied with. You will play a key part of overseeing the Quality and Risk Review (QRR) process, which involves:
- Responsible for the way in which the review is conducted
- Oversight of the file reviews, including training and managing a team of secondees
- Tracking trends and issues identified, analysing the results and recommending changes
- Responsible for agreeing and reporting results with Partners/Directors/Executive Committees.
- Ensuring remedial actions are undertaken and progress reported.
- Undertake portfolio wide analysis of areas that can be reported on
- Review the process annually to identify aspects that can automated
As a Senior Manager for National Tax, your responsibilities will include among others:
- Contributing to the integration of new teams, particularly with regards to policies and procedures that help to manage risk, and due diligence in respect of new teams.
- Providing input into wider changes and central policies to ensure they are effective for tax colleagues.
- Answering queries on risk matters and policies and procedures from tax colleagues.
- Oversight of the suite of engagement letters used in tax,
- Input into the creation of policies established by CLA Global, and input into the monitoring of network firms, to the extent these relate to tax services.
- Identify improvements to the way in which risk is managed across tax.
- Input into other projects related to risk management, as needed.
Qualifications
To be successful in this role, you should:
- Degree educated preferred.
- CTA qualified and/or Chartered Accountant (ACA) preferred.
- Experience working in a professional services firm is required.
- Proven experience of working within a role relating to Risk Management
