Job Description
• Strategic Planning - develop comprehensive market strategies and plan to support business goals (product portfolio relevance, growth opportunities, communication needs, pricing, channels etc). Act as key consultant to the Global Marketing Director to help shape the high-level marketing strategy.
• Market insight - collaborate with the Strategy and Marketing Performance team to define the competitive, market and customer insights which will shape our Go to Market plan and related marketing campaigns relevant to each sector. Create, share and apply relevant customer, competitor and market insights for each of the verticals (and services)
• Competitor intelligence - Closely monitor competition strategies and tactics within the verticals and incorporate into company Competitor tracking system
• Collaboration - working with sales, portfolio, operations, marketing comms, brand, pricing, training to ensure alignment and delivery of the marketing plan
• Performance tracking - working with marketing performance and relevant internal stakeholders to establish, create and communicate performance against relevant KPIs for the verticals
Key Individual Accountabilities -
• Develop, align and ensure implementation of the five-year strategic marketing plan by vertical
• Drive consistent approach and input to marketing plan creation across verticals, services and geographies
• Be the "go-to" person in the marketing organisation for the verticals, helping translate business objectives into actionable marketing plans with relevant stakeholders
• Ongoing input to the New Product Delivery/New Services Delivery process to represent industry trends and opportunities/risks
• Internal capability building of the marketing function and broadening of influence in the organisation - ie shaping the marketing strategy and how this should drive our marketing communications plans
• Influencing without formal authority - ensuring delivery against the strategic plan by market segment/vertical is executed across multi-functional teams including sales, portfolio, operations, marketing, training - trouble-shooting where appropriate and sharing progress on a regular basis etc
• Building and maintaining expertise across each of the verticals and being a visionary thought leader within each of the internal vertical communities
• Building and maintaining a close working relationship with the Strategy team to ensure the overall corporate objectives and insights are aligned and that data sources and reporting are consistent
• Monthly vertical performance reporting
Qualifications
- 10+ years experience in a B2B environment & experience with market segmentation and data analysis skills
- Understanding of B2B buying cycles and purchase decision criteria
- Used to working in a matrix organisation globally with many stakeholders.
- Ability to influence at a senior level to shape strategic decision-making.
- Will suit a strong analytical thinker with exceptional stakeholder management skills.
