Job Description

In this role, you will manage various heads of indirect spend category related to Support Functions, CEO's Office and CXOs, in Group Offices based in London & Dubai. The role also maintains oversight & supervision of indirect procurement in all existing and upcoming markets, where IHS operates. In a new market, you may be required to directly handle the actions, until a local team is recruited .

The services include HR Services, Professional Services, Financial Services, Consultancies, Lease management, Office builds, Facility Management, Equipment hiring, Vehicle lease & maintenance services, Jet hiring etc. Leveraging advanced sourcing tools and processes, you will conduct market research, identify optimal procurement scenarios, carry out sourcing and lead supplier negotiations to achieve annual savings targets, improve efficiency and optimize total cost of ownership (TCO). You will be expected to build strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders while driving optimal value for IHS. The role involves effective management of the pre delivery and post delivery environment through an efficient supplier governance process.

The Position represents Group Procurement & Supply Chain Function in London Group Office.

RESPONSIBILITIES

  • Partner with internal and external stakeholders to gather and develop key requirements & directing the same into appropriate buying channels to maximize value.
  • Lead the supplier selection process for high-value indirect spend.
  • Identify opportunities to lead sourcing projects that support IHS' corporate strategy.
  • Guide cross-functional teams and market procurement teams through end-to-end sourcing project plans for large or complex products and services, including financial viability analyses, cost benefit analysis, make or buy analysis, supplier risk assessments, negotiation plans and supplier selection.
  • Engage with stakeholders to support the budgeting process.
  • Lead sourcing need identification, market research, competitive bid reviews, and direct negotiations while demonstrating best-in-class procurement methodologies to ensure efficient Total Cost of Ownership (TCO).
  • Take full responsibility for executing sourcing strategies, including RFx processes, multi-bid, market tests, direct negotiations and catalogue negotiations.
  • Provide visibility on key value delivery opportunities and assist in developing a roadmap to achieve value targets.
  • Operate as the Subject Matter Expert on assigned categories.
  • Provide category and industry knowledge to key partners, including insights on market drivers, supply market conditions, cost structures and technical improvements.
  • Review and approve indirect spend on D365 ERP, for Group & markets, as per delegation of authority assigned.
  • Leverage advanced sourcing tools and processes to drive annual savings targets, improved efficiency and optimization of TCO.
  • Build strong partnerships with both internal and external stakeholders to drive optimal value for IHS.
  • Manage the development of your team, fostering growth and professional advancement.
  • Work closely with the Shared Service Centre, based in Dubai to ensure alignment and efficiency in procurement processes.
  • Develop and maintain strong supplier relationships to ensure optimal performance and value delivery.
  • Monitor supplier performance and compliance, implementing improvement plans as necessary.
  • Negotiate and manage supplier contracts, ensuring terms and conditions are met and value is maximized.
  • Conduct regular supplier reviews and assessments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.

Qualifications

  • Education: Bachelor's degree in engineering or an MBA. CIPS or equivalent certification is highly desirable.
  • Experience: 12 -14 years of proven experience in supply chain management, with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing, contract negotiation, competitive price analysis, supplier relationship management and performance management.
  • Industry Sector : No specific sector preferred.
  • Professional Background: Extensive track record of delivering exceptional procurement results in a highly dynamic environment.
  • Leadership: Proven experience leading end-to-end sourcing projects, including need identification, market research, competitive bid reviews, direct negotiation activities, supplier selection and on-boarding.
  • Knowledge: Deep understanding of industry and market trends, including analysis of market drivers, cost structures and technical improvements. Hands on working knowledge of a known ERP is an absolute must. Advanced excel & analytical skills are also a mandatory requirement.
  • Executive Presence: Strong executive presence with the ability to step in and lead major initiatives, driving outcomes across all levels of the organizational hierarchy, including the C-suite.
  • Interpersonal Skills: Exceptional interpersonal skills, with the ability to communicate effectively, form strong relationships, anticipate needs and negotiate successful outcomes.
  • Initiative and Innovation: Must be a self-starter, imaginative innovator, ambitious, driven, internally motivated and result-oriented.
  • Critical Thinking: Demonstrated ability to execute strategies with outstanding planning, problem-solving and decision-making skills.
  • Team Development: Experience in managing and developing procurement teams, fostering growth and professional advancement.
  • Stakeholder Collaboration: Proven ability to work closely with Shared Service Centres and other stakeholders to ensure alignment and efficiency in procurement processes.
  • Supplier Relationship Management: Expertise in developing and maintaining strong supplier relationships, monitoring supplier performance and compliance, and implementing improvement plans as necessary.
  • Contract Management: Skilled in negotiating and managing supplier contracts to ensure terms and conditions are met and value is maximized.
  • Continuous Improvement: Ability to conduct regular supplier reviews and assessments to identify opportunities for continuous improvement.
