Job Description

The Senior Manager Group Consolidation is responsible for overseeing and managing the financial consolidation processes across IHS entities across LATAM, Middle East, Africa and Group. This role ensures the accurate and timely reporting of consolidated financial statements in compliance with relevant accounting standards and regulations. The Group Consolidation Senior Manager will work closely with regional finance teams, Shared Services Centre, auditors, and senior leadership to deliver consolidated reports, financial analyses, and ensure the smooth operation of the financial close process.

KEY RESPONSIBILITIES

Financial consolidation

  • Lead the end-to-end consolidation process for the group's financial statements, ensuring accuracy and completeness.
  • Consolidate monthly, quarterly, and annual financial results from multiple subsidiaries and entities.
  • Ensure compliance with International Financial Reporting Standards (IFRS) and other applicable regulations.
  • Manage intercompany eliminations and reconciliation of intercompany balances.

Financial reporting

  • Prepare consolidated financial statements including balance sheet, income statement, cash flow statement, and changes in equity.
  • Provide analysis of group financial performance and identify key trends and variances.
  • Assist in the preparation of presentations and reports for senior management and board meetings.

System and process improvement

  • Continuously improve consolidation processes, ensuring efficiency and accuracy.
  • Implement and maintain financial consolidation systems and tools.
  • Drive automation and optimization of financial reporting processes.

Compliance and audit

  • Maintain and enforce robust internal controls across the group consolidation process and own the key SOX controls at the Group level.
  • Liaise with external auditors, preparing supporting documentation and addressing audit queries.

Collaboration and team leadership

  • Collaborate with regional and subsidiary finance teams to ensure timely and accurate submission of financial data.
  • Provide guidance and training to regional finance teams on consolidation processes, financial reporting requirements, and group policies.
  • Act as a key point of contact for any consolidation-related issues or queries.
  • Line management of one UK direct report.

Financial planning and analysis support

  • Support the FP&A team with consolidated data and analysis for forecasting, budgeting, and strategic planning.
  • Participate in special projects, including mergers, acquisitions and disposals. Integrate new entities into the consolidation process and manage assets held for sale and disposal accounting.

Qualifications

KEY REQUIREMENTS

Education

  • Bachelor's degree or similar strong academics
  • Professional qualification such as CPA, ACA, ACCA, or equivalent is highly preferred.

Experience

  • Extensive experience (5+ years) post qualification with solid proven experience in financial consolidation and reporting, preferably within a multinational organization.
  • In-depth knowledge of IFRS, SOX, and financial reporting requirements.
  • Experience with financial consolidation software (e.g., Hyperion, Onestream) and Microsoft D365

Skills and Competencies

  • Strong technical accounting skills, particularly in consolidations, eliminations, and intercompany transactions.
  • Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills.
  • High attention to detail and the ability to manage multiple priorities.
  • Strong communication and collaboration skills to work effectively with cross-functional teams across variety of countries.
  • Ability to lead and mentor junior staff.
