The Company Secretarial & Global Entity Management Team sits within KPMG Law. KPMG has a long history of successfully delivering multidisciplinary services to clients and our team plays an important part in that. Our vision is to be the company secretarial adviser of choice for KPMG's clients in relation to compliance and governance matters.

Key responsibilities of the role are:
- Responsible for creating a supportive team environment and role modelling leadership.
- Acting as relationship manager for your portfolio of clients, including regular communications, hosting update calls/meetings and obtaining/reviewing feedback for improvement in services. Dealing with escalations and client concerns sensitively and proactively to achieve resolution
- Providing senior advice and support to clients and internal colleagues with a range of company secretarial matters in a variety of industries, including provision of outsourced company secretarial services.
- Working alongside our corporate legal teams to advise on and support with the company secretarial aspects of complex transactions.
- Providing board and committee support to clients from a wide range of sectors as well as assisting and training more junior members of the team.
- Providing training to company secretaries/directors of clients on a variety of topics.
- Leading on a wide range of governance and advisory projects.
- Drafting and inputting on legislative and governance-related updates to be circulated to clients and internal colleagues.
- Preparing proposal documents and developing opportunities with clients.
- Lead on and contribute to the strategic development of the team, business development initiatives internally and externally to drive growth.
- Management, mentoring and training of junior team members to help support their development and overall quality management of our services.
- Ensuring strong working relationships, both with clients and colleagues alike.
- Ensuring risk processes are adhered to for our client engagements.
- Role model the firm's ESG commitment, ensuring that KPMG's ambition to weave ESG matters through everything we do is achieved. We believe sustainable growth is the only way to build a successful business and have a lasting impact on the world.
- Acting as an Engagement Manager on client engagements, reviewing and completing risk checks and evaluating potential threats and establishing how to mitigate the risks, if possible, in preparation for the review and approval by a Director or Partner.
- Reviewing and understanding our risk frameworks and adhering to these.
- Supporting with oversight of the team's risk profile, helping to ensure that the team remains compliant and up to date with risk requirements.
- Report to the Directors and Partners on a regular basis providing updates on the new business pipeline with responsibility for maintaining the pipeline.
- Reviewing existing client contracts to ensure the services remain relevant and are profitable, with a view to supporting the client relationship team member through a client review process with the client and where necessary deploying influencing skills to increase the margin/rescope the engagement successfully
- Keeping up to date with market conditions/changes, understanding the key trends and ensuring the business is agile in responding to client needs in a proactive manner.
- Role model continuous improvement, making sure that risks are minimised for the benefit of the team and clients.
Education and qualifications:
- The applicant will ideally have a degree level qualification.
- Qualified Charted Secretary/Governance Professional with the Chartered Governance Institute or equivalent.
Skills and experience required:
- Minimum of 7 years' experience in the company secretarial profession, supporting a wide range of company secretarial tasks for a large portfolio of clients or in house team
- Experienced in providing board and committee support as well as in an advisory capacity
- Experienced in leading and coaching others for performance management.
- Ideally experienced in the use of legal entity management software.
- Good working knowledge of MS Office, specifically Word, Excel and PowerPoint.
- Strong organisational, attention to detail and interpersonal skills are essential, including the candidate's ability to flex their style to work with others productively.
