In order to support the growth of our capabilities within the CO&I FS Operations team, we are currently looking to recruit Senior Managers who can make a significant contribution by combining an understanding of the Insurance, Wealth, Pensions & Retail Investments industry with transformation, reorganisation and optimisation capabilities.

Description of Role

You will be playing a crucial role in helping to drive growth in the Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investments sector by:

  • Working closely with the Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investments leadership team to drive growth in the consulting practice, you will be responsible for the delivery of consulting assignments and managed services to a range of firms, predominantly Insurers, Wealth Managers, Life and Pensions companies, platform businesses, IFA Networks and firms that provide support and outsource services to the Wealth Management industry.
  • Leading & delivering consulting engagements for Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investment clients, as well as supporting the wider Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investments Consulting team.
  • Being responsible for identifying opportunities and developing relationships with clients. You will leverage and develop your own network as well as developing relationships with clients to understand their issues and, from that, develop solutions and add value.
  • Actively supporting our people strategy through coaching and development of team members and acting as a Performance Manager for several people.

As a senior manager, the incumbent will be actively supporting our people strategy through coaching and development of team members and acting as a Performance Manager for several people.

Job Description

Using your experience and knowledge, you will be delivering complex streams of work within transformation programmes, setting up the engagement, scoping the work, planning the work and briefing and leading a team of consultants.

Main duties & responsibilities

  • Build and maintain strong client relationships within the sector, leveraging proven industry content and delivery capability.
  • Solution development, showing a clear ability to enhance existing solutions, and develop new ones, with specific emphasis on Transformation Leadership and Operational Excellence.
  • Strong bid management experience including presenting or pitching to clients to win new business
  • People management, building a team of consultants with the right mix of grades, competencies and experience to support client opportunities and projected growth.

The Person

Essential experience

You will have a proven track record of managing large scale transformation programmes with multi-disciplined teams within the Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investment industry and will have experience in offering strategic advice around areas of change including; digital transformation, regulatory change, re-platforming, client experience augmentation, organisational re-design, target operating model design and programme delivery.

Ideally, you will have experience in operating in complex global organisations and interfacing with multiple stakeholders with sometimes differing objectives.

You will have a proven track record in order to support the development of the KPMG Insurance, Wealth, Pensions and Retail Investments Consulting practice, building our capability and propositions and leading on key alliance relationships

You will work closely with the Insurance and Asset Management Sector teams and all FS Consulting Partners, ensuring that the team optimises the ability to help clients and identifies opportunities for KPMG.

You will be managing relationships with senior clients and will be responsible for growing and commercialising your c-suite and 'heads of' relationships across the industry.

You will drive the development of our brand and presence in the market, increasing our share of the market and achieving market leading status for KPMG.

You will have experience in developing, mentoring and supporting junior staff and teams. You will take a lead role in developing consulting skills amongst team members who have been hired for their industry experience who have limited consulting experience. Experience working in the Insurance sector (preferably General Insurance and Commercial specialty) is essential.

Strongly encourage prior experience in consulting or leading complex business transformation programmes in the capacity of Project/Programme Manager applying relevant methods including; Lean, Agile, operating model design, change management, technology and/or digital change.

In-depth understanding of the key industry, market and regulatory drivers shaping the Insurance/FS industry and an ability to articulate these by way of client opportunities.

The ability to present to C-Level decision makers is preferable.

Experience of managing and mentoring staff and helping with their personal and professional development.
