Senior Facilities Manager, Operations & Strategy

Working at our iconic office in either King's Cross, London or Leeds and virtually via Microsoft Teams

50/50 Hybrid working

Reporting to: Director, Treasury & Financial Operations

Your new role at NewDay

A strategic and operational role, accountable for Facilities Management, Health, Safety and Fire for NewDay, across Leeds and London. Rent negotiations and cost-savings, as well as engagement and wellbeing project streams. Leading 3rd party suppliers, including landlords and catering providers, you'll also have the opportunity to drive the environmental agenda.

You'll deliver

  • Ownership of the Facilities Management strategy, policy and procedures within the annual cost budget set
  • Direction and planning of essential central services such as reception, security, maintenance, mail, cleaning, catering, waste disposal and recycling.
  • Full suite of Quality, Safety, Health and Environmental policies and procedures for both sites, ensuring QHSE and statutory obligations are met and all security, legal and statutory requirements for building under management are achieved.
  • Regular risk assessments and controls so that we have both tactical and strategic longer-term programmes of activities & investment that reduce exposure to risk. This includes monitoring performance levels of partners.
  • Support to the procurement team in calculating and comparing costs for required goods or services to achieve maximum value for money and renegotiating contracts.
  • Oversight & governance across our Health and Safety responsibilities across NewDay including, Policy and Documentation, Accident reporting and investigation, Fire and First aid and Risk assessments.

What you'll bring

We need knowledge, experience + expertise in:

  • Managing multi-site facilities, with huge knowledge in associated policy and procedures
  • Influencing stakeholders (internal and external) through strong communication skills
  • Managing safety in a dynamic office environment
  • Developing and launching training for appropriate health and safety courses
