Your Mission:
As Senior Manager, Public Relations, you will report to the Director, Public Relations playing a critical role in shaping and executing Medidata's PR strategy in EMEA. In collaboration with the global PR team, EMEA Regional Marketing, and other internal stakeholders, you will amplify Medidata's voice and visibility in the region, manage key PR initiatives, including the EMEA regional PR Agency, and help strengthen media relationships and drive strategic communications that align with the company's business objectives.
Lead the development and execution of Medidata's public relations and media strategies in EMEA, with a focus on earned and sponsored media, thought leadership, and executive visibility.Work closely with the EMEA Field Marketing team, regional SME's and leadership to understand key areas where PR can support awareness activities.Serve as liaison between, and manage relationships with, EMEA PR agency.Draft and distribute press releases, news briefs, media alerts, messaging documents, and other PR materials, such as customer case studies and exec summaries.Proactively engage and build relationships with EMEA-based business and industry trade reporters to identify coverage opportunities and promote Medidata news. Partner with PR agency to monitor coverage and compile results reports for global reporting purposes.Coordinate media interviews and craft briefing documents to support company subject matter experts and executives.Maintain PR databases and trackers, media lists, coverage reports, and website newsroom.Monitor industry trends, competitive media activity, and relevant news to identify potential opportunities or risks for the Medidata brand.Partner with the broader marketing team, including social media, content, event, and digital teams, to plan and implement PR campaigns in support of EMEA business priorities. Partner with the Director, Public Relations to support crisis communications activities.
Your Competencies:
- Excellent writing, editing, and proofreading skills.
- Strong understanding of PR best practices and media strategies. Strong media pitching skills.
- Ability to develop and maintain relationships with business and industry trade media.
- Detail oriented with strong organizational and project management skills with ability to work in a fast-paced environment.
- A team player with the ability to work cross-functionally and lead collaborative efforts with internal teams and external agencies.Understanding of and comfortable with Microsoft Office, Google Drives, Slack
Your Experience:
- Bachelor's degree required, preferably in public relations, journalism, communications, or a related field.
- PR experience in a PR agency or in-house corporate communications department.
- Experience in life sciences industry, and/or clinical development, or tech area preferred.
- Experience managing PR agencies and other external vendors.
Base pay is one part of the Total Rewards that Medidata provides to compensate and recognize employees for their work. Most sales positions are eligible for a commission on the terms of applicable plan documents, and many of Medidata's non-sales positions are eligible for annual bonuses.
