There are four pillars within the Sports Group is a market-leading team of specialist advisors working exclusively on sports assignments, providing clients with specialist sports industry knowledge and insight that enables change, resolves significant Business Group:

  • Economic Growth & Development: We build a vision for economic development and growth through sport advising governments, public sector and private investors about how to maximise the impacts of their investments.
  • Sports Advisory: We create strategies and reporting mechanisms to support the growth and sustainability of elite sporting organisations in a responsible manner.
  • Transformation Advisory: We advise organisations on future-proofing the sports business, charting new opportunities and driving innovation from ideation to delivery.
  • Sports M&A Advisory: We support major global sports transactions, facilitating client investment through M&A to create future value for private and institutional investors.

As the next step in our growth, we are building our economic growth and development advisory team with two new roles, based in Manchester or London. We are looking for two exceptional new colleagues, to join at either Manager or Senior Manager level. We are looking for individuals with relevant experience of working with central, regional and local government and arms-length bodies in the UK and/or of advising on major sports infrastructure and facilities programmes. You'll have a strong track record in the industry, share our excitement and commitment to our values and the highest standards.

Your role would include:

  • Strategic Advisor to Governments: Provide expert guidance to government and public sector clients on impactful sports policy, program development, and infrastructure investments.
  • Evaluation /Impact Assessment: Design and lead comprehensive evaluation programs, measuring the social, economic, and environmental impact of major sports investments.
  • Private Sector Sports impact investment: Advise private sector organizations on maximizing the social and economic returns of their sports-related investments.
  • Business Development: Proactively identify and cultivate new business opportunities with both existing and prospective clients, expanding our impact in the sports sector.
  • Client-Focused Project Leader: Lead and manage diverse project teams, ensuring high-quality delivery and impactful outcomes that exceed client expectations.
  • Trusted Senior Client Partner: Build and nurture strong, trusted relationships with senior client stakeholders, acting as a strategic advisor and partner.

Soft Skills

  • You're collaborative in nature. You enjoy working as a team, to understand and explore complex challenges as well as collaborating to deliver project objectives.
  • You're able to articulate complex messages. You use strategic thinking, frameworks and experience to structure, articulate and deliver recommendations, tailoring messaging depending on the audience.

Essentials

  • Experience working within the sport industry in a leadership role or professional services organisation.
  • Proven knowledge and understanding of the business of sport.
  • Experience of working on government and public sector projects in sport.
  • Experience of working on major sports infrastructure programmes.
  • Experience of impact measurement and evaluation.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills including report-writing, presentations and workshop facilitation.

Desirable

  • Strong network within the sports industry.
