The financial services industry is currently undergoing a period of unparalleled change. Since the financial crisis, banks and financial institutions have been subjected to more stringent regulations, increased supervision and overall global economic instability. These changes have not come without a cost and has made these institutions re-evaluate the way they have been doing business traditionally. Moreover, the proliferation of technological advances including disruptive technologies and digital are compounding the pressures of maintaining market edge, being adaptable and increasing profit margins.
EY is now investing in a new EMEIA Digital and Emerging Tech division focused on delivering key Digital Operations programs, build valuable relationships, and develop strong capabilities through both formal training and working with senior mentors and talented colleagues.
This is akin to a start-up with EY and we are seeking high calibre and experienced Emerging Tech architects and engineers to join this growing team.
Your key responsibilities
- Work with the Management team to define the go to market Digital Engineering consultancy service and be part of the go to market team to sell these services to our FS clients.
- Lead the implementation of Digital Engineering services for our clients by engaging with senior stakeholders and help them safely adopt Digital Engineering and AI technologies.
- Extensive knowledge & experience in working with the Cloud on at least one of the clouds like AWS, Azure & Google
- Provide guidance and input into internal projects that are building Digital Engineering assets in terms of architecture and engineering best practises and where necessary to demonstrate best practices through implementation.
Skills and attributes for success
- A natural technical leader that is proficient in explaining Digital Engineering to financial services clients including non-technical stakeholders
- Ability to work with Senior stakeholders, collaborating to find solutions to complex technical situations
- Identifying opportunities for and securing new business, including leading proposals and bid teams
- A capability to direct a delivery team on all aspects of Digital Engineering and to engage with client stakeholders to oversee implementation progress
To qualify for the role, you must have
- Extensive experience in the software engineering industry and/or in a Technology Consulting domain
- Previous experience working within financial services
- Referenceable experience in leading and delivering large scale programs leveraging the benefits of any combination of automation tooling, software development, AI technologies and Cloud platforms in a structured and cost-efficient way to meet the program requirements.
- Experience in leading sales cycle for target clients and transition into delivery lead role as the key senior resource on the ground for day to day client management.
- Experienced in client delivery in the engineering space involving a variety of technology capabilities, please see below for reference (Non-exhaustive):
- Experience of one or more software languages e.g. C/C++, Java, C#/.net, Javascript/Typescript, Python, GoLang, Rust.
- Experience of delivering solutions on-prem and one or more hyperscaler platforms; AWS, Azure or Google Cloud.
- Experience of DevSecOps techniques and tooling e.g. Containerisation/Kubernetes, Jenkins, cloud platform tools, Terraform, Ansible etc
- Experience of tech operations, incident and problem management, RCA and observability techniques
- Experience with software testing techniques, types and testing automation.
- Experience of Blockchain techniques, types and languages, smart contracts, digital assets and their use cases
- Candidates should be knowledgeable about component-based & event-driven architecture using messaging technologies like Kafka
- Candidates should be knowledgeable about APIs, common protocols and standards such as REST and HTTP and encryption techniques such as TLS
- Candidate needs to demonstrate experience and capability around data security, information security and design patterns for failure recovery and resiliency
- It is expected that the candidate can Architect and QA solutions as well as monitor and manage team delivery in a fast-paced client environment
- It will be expected that the candidate has proven experience in establishing one-self as a trusted advisor to senior stake holders in the client organization
- The candidate will also be required to establish one-self as a true domain practitioner within EY in the space of AI Engineering, Cloud Engineering, Software Engineering or DevSecOps such that they are called upon for supporting the sales process to showcase the best of EY in the industry
