The Role

As the Senior Manager, Strategic Data Initiatives you will lead a high-performing team of Managers responsible for the intake, triage, objective & value-based prioritisation and timely execution of enterprise-wide strategic data initiatives. These initiatives are critical in supporting the achievement of AMS' overarching business goals and enhancing our client outcomes across key Talent Acquisition (TA) metrics. Your Team will serve as a strategic enabler, bringing together cross-functional teams to support the delivery of key initiatives, enhancing AMS' capabilities for data-driven decision-making and ensuring scalable strategic data initiative delivery across our Global RPO operations.

Responsible for the overall delivery of the strategic data initiatives team, you will lead the overall roadmap for enterprise-wide strategic data initiatives, collaborating with all relevant AMS teams, translating requirements in to specified deliverables, ensuring relevant initiative tracking, documentation & associated communication of progress to all parties and that new ways of working (People, Process & Technology) are successfully integrated into both AMS & client solutions where required. The role is essential for driving operational excellence, ensuring impactful, compliant and scalable data solutions are delivered for AMS and our Clients.

Key Accountabilities

You'll support our success by:

  • Overseeing the intake & triage of strategic data initiative requests from internal and client stakeholders
  • Prioritize initiatives objectively, based on business impact, resource availability and alignment with enterprise objectives
  • Ensure timely and high-quality execution of data initiatives, from discovery through delivery.
  • Own reporting and measurement of initiatives performance, resource utilisation, and business impact - ensuring all success criteria are achieved i.e. productivity gains and cost savings resulting from data initiatives, improvement in processes etc.
  • Collaborate with senior business leaders, Intelligence & Insights teams, Client Service Teams, technology stakeholders and clients to understand data needs and translate them into actionable initiatives.
  • Act as a strategic advisor on data initiative feasibility, scope, and expected outcomes.
  • Provide executive-level updates and insights to drive strategic decision-making.
  • Work in partnership with AMS internal stakeholders across; Data Compliance, I&I Hubs, I&I Partners and other data teams, to design, build and drive initiatives to deliver consistent, compliant service delivery, readily answering questions or addressing concerns quickly to improve engagement and data literacy in I&I and AMS more broadly.
  • Lead, coach, and develop a team of 3 Managers, strategic data initiatives, with x3 further indirect reports (total team of x6)
  • Supports the development of AMS talent for the future through a robust methodology for hiring, performance management, continuous development, wellbeing, inclusion, engagement and retention - make I&I a great place to work
  • Creates a culture which builds pride in I&I and the value it holds. Acts as an advocate for this across AMS and client base.
  • Acts as a role model always in building collaborative partnerships that work effectively across a heavily matrixed structure, enhancing I&I's reputation within the business
  • Partner with AMS Teams and external partners to identify data acquisition needs & opportunities, building productive relationships with external vendors to acquire external data sets efficiently and compliantly to enhance data collection activities.

Skills & Experience

You'll need to demonstrate:

  • Data Product / Initiatives Management - Proven experience in managing enterprise-level data products, programmes/projects, initiatives, ideally within a Talent Acquisition, HR Tech, or RPO environment.
  • Stakeholder Management - Demonstrable experience in partnering with stakeholders in complex organisations across varying levels, including senior leadership and cross functional teams to get initiatives and projects delivered.
  • Workload / Task Prioritisation - Strong prioritisation and workload/task management skills in a fast-paced, matrixed environment.
  • Ability to influence others of the need to always understand and follow best practice standards and to be able to articulate the impact on AMS and our clients for not doing so.
  • People Management - experience of managing people including performance management.
  • Data Literacy - Experience in building data literacy across an organisation, enabling colleagues at all levels to understand, interpret and leverage data effectively.
