Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled and dynamic Senior Content Manager to join our fast-paced and innovative collectibles company. This role is instrumental in shaping our storytelling content strategy across EMEA markets, working closely with athletes and internal stakeholders to create compelling content which converts mainstream sports and entertainment fans into collectors of our retail and premium hobby products.

The Senior Content Manager will play a crucial role in helping to organize and execute content shoots, producing engaging social & digital assets, and ensuring the seamless co-ordination of all elements required for high-quality content production. The successful candidate will be a strategic thinker, a hands-on content specialist, and a confident self-starter who can drive creative projects from concept to execution.

Key Responsibilities

Content Shoot Planning & Execution:

  • Support the VP, Content in helping to organize content shoots throughout Europe.
  • Be able to deputise for the VP, Content in taking full ownership of content shoots
  • Work closely with the Athlete Relations Manager and Athlete Partnerships team to co-ordinate logistics, including athlete schedules, branded set design, film crew, photographer, hair & make-up, cue cards, security and props.
  • Ensure smooth execution of shoots, finding solutions to on-site challenges and maintaining high production standards.
  • Manage post-shoot workflows, including content selection, editing co-ordination and internal reviews.

Creative Strategy & Production:

  • Collaborate with the VP, Content to produce accurate and professional Creative Briefs for athlete agents, ensuring clear communication of campaign objectives.
  • Develop engaging storytelling concepts that resonate with sports & entertainment fans and drive product & brand engagement.
  • Ensure all content aligns with brand guidelines and meets the highest quality standards for social and digital platforms.
  • Brief film crews and photographers to guarantee professional, brand-aligned and visually engaging production.
  • Work with editors, designers and copywriters to refine final content before publication.
  • Help to manage the approval process with internal and external stakeholders, including agents and licensors - eg UEFA, Premier League.

Cross-Functional Collaboration:

  • Work with internal teams, including Athlete Partnerships, Product, eCommerce, Sales, Social Media, PR, and Marketing Managers across EMEA, to align content production with business objectives.
  • Understand the commercial impact of content shoots and ensure they serve multiple business needs, from marketing and engagement to sales and brand positioning.
  • Co-ordinate with global PR and Social teams to ensure content gets the maximum possible reach & engagement with our target audience
  • Provide internal stakeholders and senior management/leadership with reports and insights on content performance, helping also to inform future creative decisions.

Content Innovation & Best Practices:

  • Stay ahead of industry trends in sports & entertainment content, collectibles marketing and digital storytelling.
  • Identify opportunities to leverage new content formats, including short-form video, interactive content, behind-the-scenes features and influencer collaborations.
  • Ensure content maximizes audience engagement across Instagram, TikTok, YouTube, X and other key platforms.
  • Manage content archiving and asset organization for easy future access and re-purposing.

Skills & Experience Required

Essential Skills & Qualifications:

  • 5+ years of experience in content production, creative direction, or media within sports, collectibles, or entertainment/lifestyle brands.
  • Proven experience in planning, executing and managing high-profile content shoots.
  • Strong ability to develop compelling creative briefs that align with brand messaging.
  • Exceptional project management skills, with the ability to juggle multiple projects, deadlines and stakeholders.
  • Experience working with athletes, agents and talent managers would be a major advantage.
  • A comprehensive understanding of social media trends, digital content best practices and video storytelling techniques.
  • Ability to collaborate effectively across departments and influence key stakeholders.
  • High level of creativity, attention to detail and problem-solving ability under pressure.
  • Experience briefing and managing film crews, photographers, creative professionals and - desirably - athletes and well-known public/media figures and influencers.

Preferred Experience & Traits:

  • Background in sports media, digital content or sports/entertainment marketing.
  • Experience working in a fast-paced, high-energy environment with tight deadlines.
  • Passion for sports, collectibles and athlete-driven storytelling.
  • Pro-active, hands-on and positive attitude with a solution-focused mindset.

About the Team

Fanatics Collectibles is a leading licensor, producer, designer, and seller of physical and digital trading cards, sports memorabilia, and other digital assets for entertainment and sports properties globally, as well as a manufacturer of physical and digital trading cards. It has secured exclusive licensing arrangements with major national professional sports leagues, including the MLB, NFL and the NBA, and related players associations, to produce physical and digital trading cards and other collectibles.
