Job description

KPMG's Pensions Advisory business continues to build out its new pensions team, and requires individuals that can bring different skill-sets to the team.

We are looking for an individual who has significant experience building and maintain relationships with professional pension trustees

You will work closely with the Partners and Directors to facilitate introductions to your professional trustee network and promote long-term relationships with KPMG.

As a Senior Manager, you will be responsible for supervising the work of junior staff, and provide coaching and development.

Description of role:

  • Market facing with a strong external profile
  • Extensive network of high-quality trustee relationships
  • Detailed knowledge of the pension schemes managed by different trustees
  • Helping spot market opportunities
  • Supporting the team in achieving revenue growth targets
  • Helping to develop junior colleagues, including developing their sales and relationship building skills
  • Contributing to developing streamlined and efficient procedures, whilst maintaining an absolute focus on quality.

Role Dimensions

Technical knowledge

  • Understands the technical aspects of UK pensions, and associated pensions regulations and legislation, with a particular focus on defined benefit investment.Exhibits and stays current on appropriate industry and specialised knowledge, and leverages KPMG methodologies.

The Person:

Experience and Knowledge Requirements

  • Relevant experience working in pensions at a Senior Manager level, at either an employee benefit consultancy, asset manager, or other Big 4 firm (E)
  • Deep technical knowledge of defined benefit pension scheme (E)
  • Understanding of the wider UK pensions landscape and the issues facing our stakeholders (E)
  • Knowledge of fiduciary management and OCIO (E)
  • IT literate with sound knowledge and experience of MS Office tools (Excel, PowerPoint and Word) (E)
