Person specification
Education/Qualifications
Essential criteria
- CCAB or CIMA qualified, or part qualified and actively studying towards the final stages.
Desirable criteria
- Degree ECDL or equivalent.
Experience
Essential criteria
- Experience of working in a multi-disciplinary, complex environment
- Experience in supporting change in a complex environment
- Experience of team and line management
- Demonstrable experience of creating and working with complex spreadsheets and formulae to support management information (e.g. modelling, forecasts)
- Significant experience of using financial ledgers to code / extract / analyse / report upon financial information
Desirable criteria
- Experience of working in the acute hospital sector in the NHS
- Use of Integra financial ledger
Skills
Essential criteria
- Excellent Excel / spreadsheet skills to manipulate complex and numerous data
- Strong numerical skills, including the ability to complete complex calculations
- Able to analyse, interpret and summarise financial information concisely to present key points including consideration of the wider picture/future scenario planning
- Able to communicate well verbally and in writing to present relevant information concisely at all levels within the organisation
- Negotiating and influencing skills
- Able to make calm, rational decisions in the face of challenge, lack of information, or adversity
- Personal credibility, work with staff at all levels to build positive and constructive internal / external relationships, and shared goals for service improvement / delivery. Able to work independently as well as effectively within a team
Knowledge
Essential criteria
- Understanding of the NHS, its infrastructure and partner organisations
- Understanding of the wider NHS key strategic priorities
- A good knowledge of all applications found in "Microsoft Office
Desirable criteria
- Understanding of the Trust Finance Regime
