Person specification

Experience

Essential criteria

• At least 4 years of clinical experience
• GMC registration with license to practice

Desirable criteria

• At least six months experience in NHS in the UK
• Experience in different respiratory subspecialties

Skills

Essential criteria

• Experience with thoracic ultrasound, independently performs pleural aspiration and chest drain insertion.
• Ability to manage acute NIV

Desirable criteria

• Level 1 RCR qualification in thoracic ultrasound

Knowledge

Essential criteria

• Good knowledge of Respiratory Medicine

Qualifications

Essential criteria

• MBChB /MBBS
• MRCP or equivalent postgraduate qualification

Audits & Research

Essential criteria

• Has carried out audits and understands the principles of research and evidence-based practice

Desirable criteria

• Experience of doing clinical audits
• Publication in a peer reviewed journal involving infectious diseases

Team working

Essential criteria

• Understand the value of MDT work and is able to work in and lead a team

Desirable criteria

• Able to show good leadership skills.

Teaching

Essential criteria

• Proactive in teaching medical students and trainees

Desirable criteria

• Experience of mentoring medical or other students, or junior doctors

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
