Person specification

Attainments Professional qualifications

Essential criteria

  • Fully registered medical practitioner
  • GMC registration
  • MRCPCH part 1
  • Equivalent Postgraduate qualification in paediatrics

Desirable criteria

  • MRCPCH or equivalent

Experience Job specific

Essential criteria

  • Demonstrate paediatric experience, including both general paediatrics and neonatal intensive care.

Desirable criteria

  • UK Paediatric and neonatal experience

Management/audit

Essential criteria

  • Awareness and Involvement in audit and Management

Desirable criteria

  • Completed audit or Quality Improvement projects

Teaching

Essential criteria

  • Evidence of interest in undergraduate and postgraduate teaching

Desirable criteria

  • PG qualification in medical education

Personal skills

Essential criteria

  • Able to prioritise and organise own workload
  • Must be able to communicate clearly in oral and written form
  • Must be able to work as member of a team
  • Flexible approach
  • IT Skills

Training

Essential criteria

  • As required by the Royal College of Paediatrics and Child Health (demonstrate paediatric experience and training - including level 3 NNU)
  • NLS provider
  • APLS provider
  • Level 2 Safeguarding Children Training

Desirable criteria

  • UK Paediatric and neonatal experience
  • NLS instructor
  • APLS instructor
  • Level 3 Safeguarding Children Training

You must have appropriate UK professional registration.
