Person specification

Qualifications and Training

Essential criteria

  • Medical Degree
  • Minimum 2 years post-graduate medical experience (Junior Fellow Posts) or 4 years in critical care and related specialities (Senior Fellow Posts)
  • Advanced Life Support
  • A commitment to personal CPD
  • Active registration and licence to practice with the GMC at the time of appointment (via Manchester International Fellowship Scheme)

Desirable criteria

  • Post-graduate qualification in critical care
  • Formal training / experience in anaesthesia
  • Minimum 1 years' experience in critical care (for Senior Fellow Posts)

Teaching and Audit

Desirable criteria

  • Teaching of medical students
  • Experience of audit and quality improvement

Interpersonal Skills

Essential criteria

  • Organisation Skills
  • Communication Skills
  • Team working skills
  • English Language Skills

Manchester International Training Fellowship requirements

Essential criteria

  • Not failed any part of PLAB examination
  • Engaged in medical practice for 3 out of last 5 years including the most recent 12 months
  • Passed post-graduate qualification at first attempt
  • Not previously been turned down for sponsorship by an GMC approved sponsor

Academic Achievements

Desirable criteria

  • Distinction or prizes during undergraduate training
  • Research and publications
