Person specification
Qualifications / Training
Essential criteria
- MBChB or equivalent
- Postgraduate qualification: FRCS or equivalent
- CCT/CESR in paediatric surgery (or to be within 6 months at time of interview) or equivalent
Desirable criteria
- Evidence of commitment to subspecialist practice
- MD, PhD or other higher degree
Teaching and Audit
Essential criteria
- Teaching medical students
- Teaching junior medical staff
- Experience of Audit
Academic Achievements and Research
Essential criteria
- Publication in peer reviewed journals or demonstrate commitment to developing research in paediatric surgery
Interpersonal skills
Essential criteria
- Organisation skills
- Communication skills
- Leadership skills
- Ability to work harmoniously in multi-disciplinary team
Other Requirements
Essential criteria
- Full registration with the GMC and licenced to practice
- Registered on the GMC Specialist Register (or be within 6 months of CCT date from the date of interview)
