Senior Linux Engineer
Location: Stevenage - This position requires occasional travel to sites within the Greater London area and Southeast. This role is based fully on site, 5 days a week.
We seek a collaborative professional to join our team in delivering superior Linux Support alongside a group of skilled experts, each contributing across multiple contracts to ensure robust Linux solutions. This position offers an exceptional opportunity to enhance your specialist expertise within a dynamic and evolving sector. As a Senior Linux Engineer, you will leverage your background with Linux-based clusters to support a high-performance computing platform aligned with rigorous security standards.

Who We're Looking For
- Strong stakeholder management and customer skills, willing to work onsite.

- Automation-focused, eager to enhance scripting (BASH, Python, Ansible).
- Customer service, infrastructure support, or network administration experience is beneficial.
Your Role
- Support Linux Infrastructure across multiple contracts.
- Share expertise within the team and implement best practices.
- Help define operational processes and resolve escalations.
- Build strong relationships with customers and internal teams.
- Occasionally assist with pre-sales or future system designs.
Required Skills & Experience
- Red Hat Certified Engineer or equivalent experience.
- Strong stakeholder management and communication skills
- Strong intra and inter team communication skills
- Strong experience with Linux administration and support across several different distributions
- Experience with Linux in an integrated Windows / Active directory environment
- Experience with Linux automation systems such as Ansible
- Experience with Linux scripting across several different languages - preferably Bash, Python and at least one other
- Experience of Clustered environments and cluster orchestration tools
- Experience of clustered, parallel file systems, such as Lustre
- Knowledge of HPC management systems, such as Bright
- Network administration, such as Mellanox InfiniBand mesh and Ethernet networks
- Storage administration, such as: DDN, NetApp, IBM, or Dell EMC
- Experience managing batch scheduling systems, such as, PBS Pro, Slurm, SGE/UGE, Microsoft Scheduler
