Description
As a Senior Level Designer focused on User Generated Content (UGC), you will be instrumental in creating AAA-quality content, ranging from multiplayer maps to single-player missions, using player-facing creation tools. This role is a blend of artistry and technical skill, requiring a deep passion for crafting engaging, immersive, and fun game environments. We need some game development experience for this position, you will need to provide a portfolio showing a range of exciting and engaging level design to be considered.
Key Responsibilities
- Design and develop engaging levels or gamemodes, from concept to final implementation, ensuring they align with the overall game vision.
- Candidates may choose to specialise towards environment creation or the technicalities of gameplay creation.
- Collaborate with a multidisciplinary team, including artists and programmers, to incorporate gameplay elements, logic, and aesthetics into levels.
- Utilise feedback from leads and directors to iterate on created content, maintaining a balance between creative aspirations and gameplay functionality.
- Communicate effectively across teams to solve problems, address risks, and ensure cohesive project progression.
- Mentoring less senior members of the same team.
- Stay ahead of industry trends and tools, continuously seeking ways to enhance the player's experience through innovative level design.
Requirements
- A compelling portfolio showcasing levels, missions, gamemodes or gameplay created within game engines or through player-facing creation tools.
- 5+ years of games industry experience is highly valued.
- Strong understanding of level design principles and what makes games enjoyable.
- Experience with game engines (e.g., Unreal Engine, Unity) is beneficial but not mandatory.
- Familiarity with scripting or blueprint systems is a significant plus.
- Excellent problem-solving skills and a self-motivated drive to overcome design challenges.
- Effective communication skills, both written and verbal, in English.
- Ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment, adaptable to changing priorities.
