We are a fast-growing global reinsurance speciality company servicing the insurance markets of Lloyd's, Europe and North America.

Our M&A/Business Development team are looking for an experienced Senior Legal Counsel to manage the legal workstream for transactions globally across the group. Working closely with external legal partners to execute transactions, you will maintain a focus on identifying and mitigating legal risk pre and post execution.

Our global M&A team have responsibility for delivering transactions while crystalising value and mitigating risk. Acting as the team's legal counsel, this is a unique opportunity for a transaction-focused lawyer to make a real impact and take ownership in a fast-growing company.

Responsibilities
• Supporting the M&A team by giving accurate and timely legal advice, resolving issues and efficiently converting potential transactions to completed transactions.
• Delivering legal workstream from triage to execution and completion, including reviewing NDAs and, in conjunction with external support, agreements to execute a range of legacy transaction structures.
• Assisting with papers for internal and external approvals.
• Leading the development of an evolving M&A legal strategy, including relationship management and engagement with external law firms and process improvements in transaction delivery.
• Providing ad hoc legal advice as required, including evaluating and mitigating insurance, legal and regulatory risk in transactions.

Candidate requirements
• Right to work in this location
• Minimum of 5 years' PQE experience as a solicitor.
• Reinsurance industry experience is preferred, as is London or Bermuda market experience.
• Proven track record of delivering transactions.
• Great influencing skills, with the ability to negotiate with a wide range of legal and non-legal stakeholders, able to develop and maintain positive relationships across the business.
• Excellent communication skills with the ability and flexibility to work with cross functional teams across multiple geographies.
• Great planning and organisational skills, able to manage own time alongside a diverse portfolio of transactions and constantly prioritise deliverables.
