Role Introduction

Senior Legal Counsel (SaaS/IT) to join our Legal Commercial Team in Birmingham on a Hybrid basis

What You Will Do

This is an exciting role for someone who thrives in a fast-paced environment, you may have come from a start-up, scale-up or similar and be looking to make your mark.

You will be:

• Providing expert legal advice and guidance on SaaS contracts, licensing agreements and other legal matters.
• Draft, review, and negotiate SaaS agreements, including master service agreements (MSAs), government framework agreement and related Call-Off Contracts, RFP Ts & Cs and data processing agreements (DPAs), among others.
• Advise internal stakeholders on legal matters related to SaaS products and services, including data privacy, security, intellectual property, and contract interpretation.
• Collaborate with cross-functional teams, including sales, product development, and finance, to identify and address legal issues throughout the SaaS lifecycle.
• Conduct legal research and stay up-to-date on relevant laws, regulations, and industry standards impacting SaaS businesses.
• Assist with litigation matters as needed.
• Provide training and guidance to internal teams on legal best practices and compliance requirements related to SaaS offerings.

What You Will Have

You will have:

• 5 years PQE negotiating complex software license and SaaS agreements with customers.
• A strong understanding of public procurement law, government framework contracts, data protection laws and regulations
• Strong stakeholder management skills
• A broad thinker, with the ability to think outside the box and apply a business focused and value-add mind-set to new projects and initiatives
• Agile and able to embrace change and continuous learning
• Customer centric, whether internal or external, with the ability to put customers at the heart of decision making.
• Innovative, creative and solution focused.
