Overview
The Senior Legal Cashier will work as a part of client account cashiering team, undertaking various cashiering tasks predominantly on the client account.
Responsibilities
- IT Literate
- Aderant Expert experience if possible
- Strong knowledge of Excel, Outlook and MS Office
- Strong Cashiering background (over 5 years' experience in a busy law firm)
- Strong knowledge of SRA Accounts Rules
- Self-motivated and able to organise their own workload
- Works well under pressure
- High level of detail and accuracy
- Good communication skills
- Confident in dealing with all levels of internal and external stakeholders
Essential & Desirable Criteria
- Processing a high volume of Client account payments and receipts
- Posting Client to Office Transfers
- Posting internal transfers and receipts on the finance system and banking systems
- Running of interest calculations on request by the fee earning teams
- Undertake daily bank reconciliations on various client accounts including the GBP, EUR and USD Client accounts
- Processing of any manual cheque requests and seeking signatures for these
- Processing of daily cheque banking
- Ad-hoc tasks as needed
- To be a key holder for the firms audited safe with the expectation to attend the office when access is required
- Running the daily Client to office reports and processing end of day transfer
- Ensure compliance with financial regulations and standards
- Recording and remedying of breaches which have been discovered
- Utilising previous skills and knowledge to look at ways to streamline processes
- Attending Team and Department meetings and making recommendations
- Undertake any specific training when required
