The increasing significance of the 'North' in the Creative Industries, in particular, Yorkshire and the Humber, is more visible than ever, with Channel 4 locating its National HQ in Leeds and the development of a strong and fast-growing production sector in cities across the North of England supporting production by Netflix, Apple TV, the BFI, BBC, and ITV. Leeds has been recognised nationally as a thriving digital creative hub and an exciting, cultural city for students and, importantly, graduates. It is well placed for students who understand the increasing significance of the role of visual and sonic storytelling and want to contribute to this growing community and beyond.

In this buoyant time for film and screen production, we are seeking a 0.5 Senior Lecturer with specialist knowledge in Cinematography to work across our film production courses.

You will have a strong track record of industry experience together with relevant experience in film education, demonstrating knowledge and expertise in the practice of Cinematography, together with an informed knowledge of the film process. We are interested in Drama specialists and also Documentary specialists who may be self-shooting directors. You will be fluent with established and current industry trends. A desire to develop knowledge in virtual technologies/virtual production would be beneficial. Excellent organisational skills and the ability to engage and inspire students is essential, together with a flexible and collaborative approach to working within a teaching team.
