About this Role

Swanshurstis a large, outstanding school for girls aged 11-19 years. We offer excellentsupport and CPD for staff at all stages of their career. Ofsted (May 2024) described our school to be "anexceptional place for pupils to learn". They described the curriculum as"exemplary" and one which "explodes into life in the classroom".In relation to staff wellbeing, they noted that "The school is conscious ofstaff workload and well-being and is committed to achieving excellence in asustainable way." The school is part of the newly formed West Midlands Academy Trust(WMAT) which opened in January 2025. As one of the three founding members, theschool has been integral to forming the Trust's mission:

• Emphasis upon personal development and well-being forstaff and pupils.

We are looking to appoint a highly motivated anddynamic Senior Learning Mentor to join our pastoral team.

You should have a proven track record of creating,leading and developing a variety of programmes to raise attendance, achievementand self-esteem of students and of successful whole school interventionsworking with individuals and groups across all key stages. You should becommitted to working with a range of students from a wide range of ethnic andsocial backgrounds to remove barriers to learning.

The successful candidate will have a good workingknowledge of the Early Help system and will lead and manage a team of learningmentors to ensure our students are effectively supported in order to make thebest possible progress. Experience ofsafeguarding and Designated Safeguarding Lead training is an integral part ofthe role, and training will be provided for the successful candidate.
