We are looking for a driven and creative Senior Learning Experience Designer to work with our clients to develop innovative, pedagogically strong learning solutions that meet their business needs. You will own the overall creative vision for a range of digital learning projects. You will mentor and review the work of learning designers as well as collaborating with art directors, developers and project managers and client subject matter experts (SMEs).

Based in the UK, this role can be done on a fully remote basis.

Job Summary

  • Leading a wide variety of projects from design to delivery, working with the sales and account teams to identify solution possibilities that align with the client's budget and will meet the client's needs
  • Defining the creative vision for learning solutions of a wide range of sizes and shapes, and collaborating with art directors, developers, project managers, and client subject matter experts (SMEs) to bring them to life
  • Researching content and working with subject experts and learning designers to transform that content into effective and engaging learning
  • Leading and facilitating design workshops, both internally and with clients; pitching design concepts to client stakeholders, gathering feedback and gaining buy-in
  • Linking learning needs analysis results to learning objectives when implementing the design
  • Creating detailed design documentation, including design solutions, content scoping documents and storyboards
  • Effectively managing multiple priorities, projects and relationships
  • Map clients' learning ecosystems including technical environments, conditions, roles, different aspects/layers of performance both for the individual and the organization
  • Conduct lead reviews of others' work and give constructive, objective and actionable feedback. Supporting the development of team members through coaching and mentoring.
  • Triaging client feedback and assessing changes that may be in or out of scope. Advising project managers and supporting client conversations about scope as appropriate
  • Keeping a close eye on project health, ensuring the required tasks are planned out and that your work, and that of others, is tracking with the project budget.

Qualifications

Building on a number of years of experience, you will have an extensive understanding of the principles of adult learning and of learning technologies and you will be confident leading workshops with clients, writing creative treatments and drawing-up novel design approaches and scoping documentation. An excellent communicator, you will be able to collaborate effectively with clients and colleagues at all levels.

  • Good level of industry knowledge, including tools, practices, technologies, competitors, and partners within the Learning Technologies Group. Continuously monitors hot topics within the industry such as AI and other emerging technologies, with an ability to discuss these confidently and knowledgeably with clients and for marketing purposes
  • Experience in the entire learning experience design lifecycle, including: requirements analysis, high-level training design and specification, interactive screen design, storyboarding, quality assurance, and learning accessibility
  • A proven ability to create innovative design solutions and learning architectures
  • An understanding of the principles of user experience design
  • Experience of leading multi-disciplinary project teams
  • The ability to establish strong working relationships with clients, gaining acceptance to proposals and changes.
  • Understanding how to get the best from a variety of in-house and off the shelf authoring tools, such as Storyline and Gomo, as well as learning management systems
  • Experience of managing multiple priorities, projects and relationships
  • Writing creative, concise and persuasive instructional copy
  • Developing effective assessment strategies (including questions, quality distracters and practice interactions) that accurately test the learners' ability to meet those objectives

Experience of working in governance, risk and compliance settings, or significant experience working with associated subject areas would also be highly desirable, as would German language skills.
