Job overview
The Clinical Trials Pharmacy Team comprises enthusiastic and committed professionals managing almost 300 active trials. The changing horizon of clinical trials with the development of personalised and precision medicines means this is an exciting time to be involved in clinical trials. You would gain experience in coordinating a portfolio of clinical trials ranging from phase 1 dose finding studies to large phase 3 studies, and a new but fast-growing pipeline of Advanced Therapy trials.
The Aseptic Services Pharmacy Team are a close-knit team working across the Charing Cross and Hammersmith Hospital sites to ensure chemotherapy, parenteral nutrition and clinical trials are prepared safely and efficaciously. You would play an active role in the day-to-day running of our licensed aseptic units, delivering a safe and efficient service to our patients, as well as taking part in the training of pharmacy technician, pharmacists and assistants within the unit.

Main duties of the job
- To assist in the provision of a high quality, patient focused, aseptic service, to patients of the Trust.
- To ensure the provision of a quality pharmaceutical dispensing service to patients of the Trust with regard to clinical trials and aseptic services.
- To co-ordinate all pharmaceutical aspects of clinical trials prepared in the aseptic unit.
- To maintain and develop the aseptic clinical trial service to ensure smooth running of the clinical trials.

Person specification
Education/ Qualifications
Essential criteria
- Recognised pharmacy technicians qualification e.g. NVQ Level 3 in Pharmacy Services
- Registered Technician with the GPhC
- Mandatory professional CPD as defined by the GPhC
Desirable criteria
- Accredited Checking Technician (or to be achieved within 12 months) for both PN and chemotherapy (in and final check)
Experience
Essential criteria
- Previous experience in looking after pharmacy computer systems
- Previous experience in training others
Skills/Knowledge/ Abilities
Essential criteria
- The ability to communicate empathetically towards patients
- Excellent and professional written communication skills
