As a Senior Lead Software Engineer at JPMorgan Chase within Employee Platforms, you are an integral part of an agile team that works to enhance, build, and deliver trusted market-leading technology products in a secure, stable, and scalable way. Drive significant business impact through your capabilities and contributions, and apply deep technical expertise and problem-solving methodologies to tackle a diverse array of challenges that span multiple technologies and applications.
Working as part of a diverse agile squad you'll develop micro front-ends and cloud-native micro-services to create new HR portal experiences and migrate existing digital help experiences to our new employee help journeys.
You'll be able to think outside the box and learn new skills in response to rapid changes and business needs. You'll join an inspiring and curious team of technologists focused on and dedicated to enhancing processes and building solutions to improve the experience of our users. Coming in with an understanding of the importance of end-to-end software development practices is imperative.
You'll be required to apply your depth of knowledge and expertise to all aspects of the software development lifecycle, as well as partner continuously with many stakeholders to stay focused on common goals.
Job responsibilities
• Regularly provides technical guidance and direction to support the business and its technical teams, contractors, and vendors
• Develops secure and high-quality production code, and reviews and debugs code written by others
• Drives decisions that influence the product design, application functionality, and technical operations and processes
• Serves as a function-wide subject matter expert in one or more areas of focus
• Actively contributes to the engineering community as an advocate of firm wide frameworks, tools, and practices of the Software Development Life Cycle
• Influences peers and project decision-makers to consider the use and application of leading-edge technologies
• Coaching and mentoring of less experienced software engineers to grow their capabilities and deliver successful outcomes for the team and our customers
• Supporting the Application Owner and Information Owner to ensure our applications are compliant with all JPMC engineering standards and that any breaks are remediated in a timely manner
• Provide technical, architectural leadership and direction to the development team and wider stakeholders within Employee Experience Technology
• Adds to the team culture of diversity, equity, inclusion, and respect

Required qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Hands-on practical experience delivering system design, application development, testing, and operational stability
• Advanced in one or more programming language(s)
• Advanced knowledge of software applications and technical processes with considerable in-depth knowledge in one or more technical disciplines (e.g., cloud, artificial intelligence, machine learning, mobile, etc.)
• Ability to tackle design and functionality problems independently with little to no oversight
• Practical cloud native experience
• Experience in Computer Science, Computer Engineering, Mathematics, or a related technical field
• Strong Agile experience using Scrum/Kanban methodologies and JIRA/Confluence
• Experienced in web front end development, Javascript technologies and frameworks such as React or Angular
• Experience in automated testing frameworks NUnit, Jest, Cypress etc. to help drive CI/CD best practice
• Experience in SQL or NoSQL databases such as MS SQL/MySQL/Mongo/Dynamo

Preferred qualifications, capabilities, and skills

• Experience of public cloud on AWS, Azure or Google Cloud
• Experience in using API query languages like ODATA, GraphQL
• Experience in developing cloud native micro-services in .Net Core, NodeJS or similar
• Experience of human-centered service design techniques and working with a large diverse user community
• Highly motivated, self-learner and a great team player with desire to contribute and build world class products
