After the retiremeng of one of our Clinical Directors, we're keen to appoint a Senior Mixed Veterinary Surgeon (Farm and Equine). This is full time/part time position (minimum 3 days a week) based from our Kings Cross Road branch, to the North of Dundee. Our new Large Animal Senior Vet will take on management responsibilities as well as continuing their current clinical work. This is an entry level management position primarily to assist the clinical director(s) in the day-to-day running of the Farm and Equine department. The role would help build the necessary experience required to continue to progress along a management career pathway, should this be of interest.

We are a 6 strong large animal team part of a large multi branch mixed practice based in Dundee and the surrounding Tayside area (covering parts of Angus, Fife and Perth). Rota is split evenly with protected time following night on call. 1/2 day every week and Monday off following weekend on call. Along with 32 days holiday and your birthday off, 5 days CPD with a generous allowance and support for further study encouraged and funded, we strive to achieve a great life / work balance for us all.

We all have all the standard equipment you would expect in a modern forward thinking vet practice, dental dremals, head stands, respiratory Scope/ mobile digital xray/ 2 pds scanners and a good ultrasound scanner for horse work, tup and bull fertility testing kit. Additionally we have:

  • In house equine stables and stocks in two locations.
  • Designated large animal nurses and in house lab.
  • Lots of visiting experts - so we do not refer much.
  • OHH phone service and lone worker scheme in place.
  • Our vets are backed by a great team with lots of support.

We have lovely clients and feel an ideal mix of pleasure / competition horses, large farms to small holdings / camelids. We believe in a strong team ethos, supporting everyone to do the best job they can, with plenty of variety, regular team meetings, cups of tea, lunch breaks on our diary and getting home on time.
