Skills And Experience
We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Java Data engineer to join our team. The ideal candidate will have extensive expertise in managing and optimizing databases, as well as a deep understanding of database architecture This role offers an exciting opportunity to work on challenging projects and contribute to the success of our data distribution initiatives. In addition, you will guide and mentor junior members of the team and have an opportunity to influence the evolution of the overall platform architecture
You'll have (Qualification & Experience):
- Minimum 7+ Years of Hands-on experience in Programming languages Java (Preferred)/Scala/Python
- Solid Backend Experience with Java, J2EE, Spring boot, MVC, Microservices, Rest API
- Proficiency in Maven and Gradle for project build and dependency management.
- Understanding of security principles and frameworks like Spring Security
- Extensive experience with relational databases & SQL scripting (e.g. Sybase/Single Store/MySQL/PostgreSQL, SQL Server)
- Experience working with multiple file formats (e.g., Parquet, JSON, XML)
- Experience in big data technologies (e.g., Hadoop, Spark, Kafka)
- Experience in building, implementing and managing data warehousing solutions (e.g., Redshift, Snowflake, Big Query).
- Experience in Docker and Kubernetes is a plus
- Working experience in Agile/Scrum
- Experience with version control systems (e.g., Git/Jira) and CI/CD pipelines (e.g., Jenkins, GitLab CI)
- Familiarity with cloud platforms (e.g., AWS, Azure, Google Cloud) and their data services
- Knowledge of ETL tools and processes (e.g., Talend, Informatica, Apache Nifi )
- Experience with debugging, exception handling, logging best practices etc
- Experience writing unit and integration tests
Preferred Qualifications / Good Have
- Sparks/Kafka
- Single store experience
- Cryptography experience
- Authorisation/authentication experience
- DB session management, transaction handling etc
- TDD or BDD experience
