As an IT Programme Manager within Portfolio Management, IT Business Services at Deloitte, collaboration with senior leaders in the business will require you to be flexible, persistent and responsive to deliver high-quality IT programmes to Deloitte Partners and staff.

You will be entrusted to take full ownership and responsibility of a large and complex HR Talent & Finance programme whilst providing a positive and enthusiastic environment within your programme delivery team, empowering them to produce their best work.

A Programme Manager is the leader of a collection of projects and other initiatives which together contribute to the delivery of a significant improvement in business performance. Their role is to work with business leaders to define and lead the programme, including establishing the overall benefits and business case, the sequence and scope of enabling projects and the business change activities that are needed to realise the overall goal. The Programme Manager is responsible to the Head of Portfolio Management for the successful delivery of the business change as well as achieving the business benefits. Programme Managers will also have career coaching and developmental responsibility for several Senior PMs, PMs and Assistant PMs.

The Programme Manager is responsible for:

  • Benefits & Business Case: Define, maintain, and champion the programme's benefits and business case
  • Governance: Establish and uphold the programme's governance structure.
  • Stakeholder Engagement & Change: Collaborate with the Sponsor to ensure effective stakeholder engagement and lead business change activities
  • Planning, Monitoring & Control: Plan, design, and proactively monitor the programme's progress, resolving issues and ensuring alignment with strategic initiatives
  • Methodology & Value Delivery: Determine and apply appropriate methodologies to ensure timely delivery of business value
  • Quality Assurance & Risk Management: Guarantee effective quality assurance and overall programme integrity, including appropriate risk management
  • Budget Management & Value for Money: Manage the programme budget, monitor expenditures against benefits, and identify opportunities to maximise value for money
  • Resource Allocation & Procurement: Facilitate resource allocation, including hiring, and manage third-party contributions within a robust commercial framework
  • Stakeholder Communication & Reporting: Manage communication with all stakeholders and report programme progress regularly to the Steering Committee
  • Dependency & Risk Management: Manage dependencies and interfaces between projects, identify and mitigate risks to the programme's success, and initiate corrective actions as needed

To qualify for this role, you must have:

  • Cross-industry best practice experience of managing delivery of significant and complex programme's
  • Proven Leadership credentials with demonstrable examples of developing and leading High Performing Teams/People
  • Excellent communication skills with the ability to engage and manage technical and non-technical stakeholders up to and including C-Level, and explain complex technical concepts in non-technical language
  • An innovative approach to problem solving

Essentials:

  • Prince2, PMP, MSP qualified or equivalent
  • SAFE Agile/Scrum Master qualified or equivalent

Desirables:

  • Experience of working in Financial Services organisations
