Job Description
We're recruiting for a Senior Investment Associate, Corporate Private Debt to support this development in a team that handles a large volume of both opportunities and transactions, across multiple European geographies.
As a Senior Investment Associate you will help originate, analyse, execute and manage illiquid private credit investments for L&G Asset Management managed funds focusing on Corporate sector issuers, including Housing Associations and Universities
What you'll be doing:
- Helping filter new potential investments according to suitability and value for L&G Asset Management client funds based upon fundamental and detailed investment analysis and understanding of the dynamics of the sector.
- Supporting the origination and execution of investment opportunities for Corporate Debt that are suitable for L&G Asset Management clients.
- Supporting the team in the formulation of the investment strategy for the sector in particular identifying transactions and sub-sectors that could be appropriate investment targets for L&G Asset Management clients.
- Building relationships internally and with market counterparties to access the broadest pool of opportunities and, together with other team members, filter these to provide prospective investments that can be recommended to clients
- Assisting with the management of key internal and external counterparty and borrower relationships
- Supporting the team in the necessary due diligence, credit and investment assessment and investment paper submissions to Private Credit Investment Committee and any other governance committee required, presenting to such committees where appropriate
- Assisting the team in negotiating and executing transactions in line with client requirements to obtain best value
- Assisting with the ongoing development and incorporation of ESG methodologies into the investment appraisal / decision-making and ongoing management process
Qualifications
Who we're looking for:
- Strong financial analysis and transaction skills - credit structuring, rating methodology and / or financial advisory experience being particularly relevant
- Knowledge and experience of credit risk either in bank or other financial institution or intermediary
- Flexible & outcome oriented - we are a small, busy and growing team, and this individual will need to have the appetite and capability to work on a variety of initiatives and investment opportunities
- Good communication skills, both verbal and written, with experience of writing and presenting information
- Ideally prior knowledge and experience of private credit investments
- Collaborative
- Ability to work closely with team members and independently when required
- A collaborative and partnering approach to working with investment management clients and market counterparties
