Job Description

Join our Institutional Retirement Investment team as a Senior Analyst within Market Solutions. In this role, you'll play a key part in shaping investment strategy, supporting new business activity, and helping optimise the performance of our backbook portfolio. Working collaboratively across the organisation, you'll contribute to solutions that improve outcomes for our customers and strengthen our financial position. What you'll be doing:

  • Leading analysis and identifying opportunities to enhance balance sheet metrics and portfolio outcomes
  • Supporting the end-to-end investment aspects of new business transactions, including transition management, hedging and holistic asset solutions
  • Identifying opportunities to refine pricing approaches, optimise asset strategies and assess new asset classes
  • Collaborating across teams to ensure tools and processes are in place to deliver financial and non-financial objectives
  • Contributing to backbook optimisation through cross-asset trade ideas and portfolio improvements
  • Advising on regulatory implications and supporting organisational responses to evolving requirements
  • Developing strong relationships with colleagues in Asset Management, Treasury, Finance, Risk and related areas
  • Embedding conduct-focused practices to support positive customer outcomes and robust internal controls

Who we're looking for:

  • Strong quantitative skills and ideally a numerate degree or postgraduate qualification
  • Deep understanding of insurance balance sheets, capital frameworks and profit reporting
  • Knowledge of derivative documentation, collateral arrangements and capital market instruments
  • Strong understanding of Solvency II and its implications for investment strategy
  • Experience in asset-liability management and managing balance sheet risks
  • Ability to build effective relationships with varied stakeholders, including fund managers, actuaries and risk specialists
  • Strategic thinking skills, with the ability to understand long-term market influences
  • A commercially aware approach with strong judgement and analytical capability
