About the Role

As a Senior Family Intervention Worker, you will:

  • Lead Assessments and Support Plans: Conduct comprehensive holistic assessments of families' strengths and needs, and work collaboratively with multi-agency partners to develop and implement effective support plans
  • Manage Complex Caseloads: Hold and manage a caseload of families with complex needs, providing direct support to children, young people, and their families to ensure their safety, security, and well-being
  • Deliver High-Quality Interventions: Use evidence-informed approaches to deliver interventions that support positive and sustainable change within families
  • Build Family Support Networks: Support families in establishing and building their support networks, and coordinate with other agencies to provide a comprehensive package of support
  • Safeguarding and Risk Management: Work as part of a multi-agency team to keep children safe and manage risk effectively so that children remain living with their families wherever it is safe to do so.
  • Help desk Rota: There will be an expectation that you will be on a fortnightly half day rota to answer telephone calls from families and professionals.

Key Responsibilities

  • Holistic Family Assessments: Lead assessments to understand the needs and strengths of families, involving other professionals and the family's support network
  • Support Plan Development: Collaborate with families and partners to create and implement support plans that promote resilience, good health, and positive activities for children
  • Direct Work with Families: Provide practical and emotional support to families, using structured, proactive, and timely interventions
  • Multi-Agency Collaboration: Build strong relationships with other professional groups and services to ensure integrated support for families

Full-time employees work 37 hours for 52 weeks of the year and we offer a generous holiday entitlement. We are open to discussions about a wide range of flexible working opportunities which benefit you and the Council.

If you are appointed to this role, your starting salary will be at the bottom of the grade. If you provide payslip evidence that your basic pay is greater than the bottom of the grade, we will consider starting you at the point of minimum advantage within the grade.
