The Role

Supporting the development of new business opportunities and managing small to medium-sized non-complex UK and International training projects in support of CAAi service lines, namely Advisory, Training and Examinations, but with a focus on Training. Providing support to technical and other colleagues in the management of complex business development opportunities and delivering projects.

SIPCs are also responsible for Account Management of key clients and stakeholders, as appropriate.

Responsibilities further include supporting the strategic development and profitability of the CAAi portfolio aligned to our overall purpose and vision.

Core Accountabilities

  • Responsible for managing the successful delivery of small to medium sized non-complex (international and occasionally national) training projects with accountability for all elements of the project life cycle to include time, cost, quality and effective reporting.
  • Managing Training projects, tasks, and workload in line with training management system procedures and within current approvals and policy, including preparation and dissemination of training materials, quality assuring incoming course materials and overseeing the financials for own portfolio of courses.
  • Collaborating with multi-disciplinary teams to deliver service excellence, often in a multi-cultural environment.
  • Establishing, maintaining and managing strong relationships with clients, stakeholders and contractors
  • Responsible for retaining and building on existing client contracts.
  • Supporting the development of new products and services, including business cases as necessary.
  • Liaising with senior managers to create annual training plans
  • Supporting the expansion of our current training portfolio, and suggesting new training opportunities
  • Supporting, and where required, leading client facing meetings.
  • Liaising with internal and external stakeholders to identify training requirements, and providing advice as SME
  • Completing tasks in compliance with Quality Management System and sign-off (improvement focus)
  • Supporting the development of client Proposals, and the preparation of complex bids and tenders
  • Contributing to continuous improvement through quality management and feedback mechanisms to maximize efficiency and effectiveness within Professional Services Group
  • Monitoring the training inbox responding in a timely manner to general enquiries and leads received via email or phone calls

About You

To be considered for the role you will need to:

  • Practical experience of training project management and delivery including financial management, ideally in an international and commercial environment
  • Experience of working with multi-disciplinary teams, preferably within a multi-cultural context
  • Experience of building and maintaining relationships with clients, partners, stakeholders and sub-contractors while providing the highest levels of customer service excellence
  • Collaborative approach - able to work within a team, or autonomously on own initiative
  • Excellent communicator, with great planning and organisational skills and experience of working to deadlines
  • Knowledge of learning theory and principles, including training methodologies and evaluation models
  • Proficient user of Microsoft (PowerPoint/Excel/Word/Teams/Adobe)
  • Appreciation of project management methodologies, preferably coupled with a formal Project Management qualification such as APM or Prince 2
  • A problem solver with a solution focused approach
  • Aviation experience desirable with a background in a technically orientated industry
  • Understanding of bid and tender processes, and experience of proposal writing
  • A motivated individual with a passion for aviation
  • Working knowledge of other languages would be advantageous
  • Must be able to multitask and be able to prioritise workloads

For many appointments within the CAA, these roles require access to operationally sensitive infrastructure and/or Nationally Protected information. For these roles the post holders must undergo National Security Vetting and achieve the appropriate level of clearance.
