This is an exciting opportunity for a passionate and motivated senior or intermediate building physicist to join our dynamic team in London - people who revel in the opportunity to work on some of the most high-profile and innovative projects across the UK and worldwide. You will have a unique opportunity to work on a diverse range of challenging projects in sectors including workplace, healthcare, education, culture and heritage, sport and leisure, sci-tech and residential.

As a building physics engineer, you will play a crucial role in designing sustainable and energy-efficient buildings, helping us to achieve our Net Zero Carbon goals.

About you:

  • Bachelor's or master's degree in Engineering, Architecture, or a related field with a focus on Building Physics, Energy Modelling, or Sustainable Design
  • Proven experience in design for performance and operational energy modelling using dynamic thermal modelling (using IES Virtual Environment preferred), with experience working across a range of building types.
  • In-depth knowledge of thermal comfort principles, heat transfer, fabric performance and passive design strategies.
  • Knowledge of building services and mechanical design is essential for this role.
  • Knowledge of renewable energy systems and low-carbon technologies, as well as their integration into building designs.
  • Knowledge of HVAC system modelling using ApacheHVAC or similar would be advantageous.
  • Experience in decarbonisation plans for building estates would be advantageous.
  • Strong analytical skills and the ability to interpret and manipulate data to inform design decisions and optimise building performance.
  • A solid understanding of UK building regulations industry standards, planning requirements and certification schemes (such as BREEAM, LEED, Passivhaus, NABERS)
  • Proficient in using Autodesk BIM/CAD software.
  • Knowledge of programming languages (Python, VBA), parametric modelling and Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) would be advantageous.
  • Chartered Engineer or Environmentalist would be desirable.
  • Low Carbon Consultant and Low Carbon Energy Assessor would be advantageous.
  • Excellent communication skills to collaborate with project teams, clients, and stakeholders effectively.
  • Results driven individual, with a positive attitude and proactive mindset. The successful candidate will have a high degree of integrity, professional ethics, respect and sense of responsibility.
