About the Role:

For a fixed period of 12-months the tasks performed by the GTS Head of Strategic Operations and Underwriting Excellence (HSOUE) are to be covered by existing GTS roles of the Chief Underwriting Officer (CUO), the Projects and Technical Manager (PTM) and the Global Operations Manager (GOM). The Senior Insurance Business Analyst (SIBA) will: (a) support the CUO, PTM and GOM in their existing technical day-to-day activities as required to allow them to cover the responsibilities of the HSOUE; and (b) under the direction of the PTM and GOM lead identified projects delivering operational business change and data quality enhancement within GTS.

The SIBA will report to the PTM and will primarily work on recurring technical tasks from processes already established as well working alongside the GOM on specific projects to improve the global GTS operational model. The SIBA will also be available to the CUO to provide support as required.

The SIBA will support the PTM in covering the work of the HSOUE who has responsibility within GTS for mitigating risk and promoting underwriting excellence and performance of the GTS business by: (a) leading strategic initiatives (including the GTS Global Underwriting Journey (GUJ) for so long as it is ongoing) designed to improve GTS' underwriting performance and (b) leading the process of training and developing GTS underwriters, maintaining the currency of the GTS precedent documentation and disseminating know-how. The SIBA will support the PTM covering the HSOUE for the implementation of the GUJ and generally activities with regards to implementation of processes or data/reporting requirements for Underwriting Excellence initiatives.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Support the PTM in all queries relating to change initiatives within GTS and the management / escalation of these as required;
  • Within the GUJ project, support the PTM who leads the project from an Operational perspective on the various streams of the Customer Relationship Management (CRM) and Contract Lifecycle Management (CLM) Salesforce implementation, Pricing and Rater Dashboard & reconciliation and PowerBI reporting related workstreams;
  • Coordinate with the GOM and PTM to ensure recurring technical tasks / reporting activities are managed and the status of each following the timetable already established;
  • Support the GOM in agreed operational related projects that require active management;
  • Support with the execution of ad-hoc projects / and other ongoing non-operational tasks as required by the GTS CUO;
  • Work with the GOM to establish a framework and approach to a review of GTS' Operating Manuals and Guides in response to business process change brought about by the GUJ;
  • Assist the PTM or GOM on investigating strategic initiatives which could benefit GTS;

Skills and Experience:

  • Have years of technical and operational experience in the insurance sector, preferably in a global context;
  • Knowledge and experience of working in a business operating multiple change projects within a programme;
  • Knowledge of solutions in insurance technical and regulatory (non-Financial) reporting and ability to respond to changes in reporting requirements;
  • Ability to review existing processes and recommending changes;
  • Broad knowledge of complex matrix organisations including internal and external outsource provider management;
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills - exhibiting diplomacy, good judgement and discretion at all times;
  • Proactive, excellent organisational skills, high attention to detail and the ability to work to tight deadlines.
  • Ability to adapt and produce workable solutions that meets the immediate demands of the situation(s);
  • Demonstrable ability and willingness to work under limited direction and turn broad ideas into tangible outcomes and actions. Comfortable working independently and as part of a team;
  • Advanced experience of policy booking systems used in the insurance sector, preferably those used by Liberty (Genius / IRIS);
  • Good Microsoft Excel, Word, and PowerPoint skills, including the ability to analyse data and pull together summary level materials for management consideration; and
  • Actively support the Company's vision and strategies including embracing and promoting change, and communicating and executing on challenging decisions.
