Job Title: Senior Infrastructure Engineer
Location: Daresbury, Warrington and/or Rutherford Appleton Laboratory Harwell, Oxfordshire
Salary: Band E £43,116 - £47,076
Contract Type: 6 (six) Months
Hours: Part time (minimum 2 days per week)

Our team delivers first class IT support and services that underpin our scientific programme of activities. The work we do is key to protecting the organisations digital assets to enable the work of the scientific community here. Our investments in new digital capability, innovation and partnerships with industry specialists are globally significant for science and research.

Migration of the e-mail systems to Cloud services is at a critical stage where the on premise exchange servers have been and replaced with Azure hosted services. This process requires follow on logical migration work for the multiple hosted services with additional identity and security related migration works.

You will be providing expertise in the development, support and maintenance of the Exchange in the Cloud service; including project development to develop/or enhance systems security capability, fulfilling complex e-mail lists and third party integration service requests in a secure manner, resolving major incidents and supporting the Operations and Service Desk Teams where required.

Whilst this role is predominately technical, working with others will be required to ensure that services are sustainable by the operational teams within the National Labs; collaborating to produce appropriate documentation and service procedures as defined in the Service Catalogue and agreed with the operational team members and Delivery Manager.

The following criteria will be assessed at shortlisting:

Essential:

• In depth knowledge and experience of managing mailing lists through Listserv and similar services
• Expert knowledge and experience of administering Exchange is a MSAzure environment.
• Experience of the installation and configuration of Mail Security protocols DMARC/SPF & DKIM
