We are seeking a Senior Cloud Infrastructure Engineer to join our CloudSec team that is passionate about making an impact and helping build the next big thing in cybersecurity. About the Team

This team is responsible for the design, deployment, monitoring, optimization, and troubleshooting of the systems supporting our InsightCloudSec offering.

As many internal and external teams access the infrastructure, you will be in constant contact with other Rapid7 employees and should be comfortable communicating regularly with other employees of various technical expertise.

About the role

This is a unique role, combining aspects of typical DevOps Engineers, Site Reliability Engineers, Systems Administrators, and Cloud Architects.

In this role, you will be:

• Deploying infrastructure that will be accessed by both internal and external customers
• Monitoring the infrastructure to predict, detect, or remediate potential or ongoing issues
• Ensuring the infrastructure is secure, including performing OS-level patching, auditing AWS and app permissions, and working with Information Security to reduce risk
• Automating your tasks or assisting others in automating theirs
• Assist others in troubleshooting issues that in one way or another involve the infrastructure you manage
• Communicating technology specifications and procedures with internal stakeholders, especially in relation to new customer onboarding and ongoing support issues

The skills you will bring:

• Ability to drive projects to completion; self-reliance when accomplishing underlying tasks
• Knowledge of the Linux OS, including file system, package & process management, logging, text manipulation, etc
• Knowledge of networking and security fundamentals
• Ability to work in a cloud environment and navigate various services to manage and troubleshoot infrastructure (AWS; EC2, S3, IAM, RDS, ElastiCache, VPC, Lambda)
• Practical experience with Kubernetes
• Experience building and managing infrastructure using Terraform and CloudFormation
• Use of CloudWatch or Datadog for infrastructure monitoring
• Experience with Python a plus
